Andy Murray's Racket Specs

Anybody got any ideas on the SW and Static Weight? I thought I read somewhere on here that a guy was talking to his coach around the US Open time last year and it weighed something like 375g? We all know it's a Prestige Pro....

SEARCH man.
Another member just got one of Murray's sticks...

Im sure a tournagrip doesnt make the world of difference. However, i would assume he left the grip on so it keeps its value...

True....ericsson said his stick is 345g strung. I wonder if that's with or without an overgrip?

Sometimes a picture says more then words:

Has anybody found his swingweight? So far, all the threads here are purely speculation swingweights.

Well he said he moved some weight from the head to the handle to make it more even balanced. So i assume its not as high as it used to be

I still want a numerical value. Some people say around here that it's now around 340ish or 350, but there's no definitive answer. All pure speculation.

May you also take a look at the SW too if you get a chance at an RDC?

Thanks! And have a good vacation.

ericsson, I'm sure I've asked you before but which one feels heavier when you just wave it around in your hand - the Stepanek racquet or the Murray racquet?

Funbun

ericsson , can you let me know what overgrip is that please??

It's tournagrip. Search is your friend. Judging by the picture, it's probably XL.

And I'm still looking forward to seeing the swingweight of the racquet!

Apologies if i didnt reply, like i said i'm on holiday so i'm not online every day.
The Murray racket swings a little heavier i think, i will check when im back home to make sure.

Like mentioned it is Tourna but i cant say from the top of my head if it is XL or not.

Interesting seeing different players different preferences for grips. This is thick and almost round. Watching Federer today, you can see the bevels on the handle from miles away.

Probably because Federer uses leather and Murray uses Karakal PU

ericsson, have you gotten around to an RDC yet?

Just wanting to keep up, thanks! I want to see the SW.

Not sure on the swingweight but I did recall the balance as 33.2cm now from some one on here.

Yeah. I remember that thread. ericsson provided that balance from the same racquet he posted in here. If only I knew the SW, his specs would be complete.

I remember drag0n provided an estimate of the SW in that very thread, but it seems a bit too off-the-top.

Yea I read that thread again and I don't remember where I got that number from

Haha I'm not calling you out or anything. Even still, your estimate is probably rather accurate, or at least in the low 350's range of SW.

I think Murray's racquet weight and SW are closer together now. He's stated in one interview that he has moved the weight towards the center of the racquet. Plus, ericsson has told me that the racquet is rather depolarized. I would assume he would have lowered his SW down to very near his racquet weight. Plus, you can see him swinging faster strokes, likely due to a lower SW.

My only concerns, as so far, is what is his exact swingweight right now and how he distributes the weight on his racquet. Murray seems to actually tinker and play with his own equipment as much as any TTer. His setups keep changing!

May be not his actual stick, but one he might used in the past.

ahm...no.
He stopped using the 18x20 pattern with the iRadical PJ.
You have the YT Radical MP PJ which is fairly recent.. It does look like the PT57A under the PJ.

I know a really good handwriting expert, just in case you're concerned about the authenticity of the signature.

Also, for dr, west nile is only 4.0, but he's sneaky and underhanded. Serves that way too.

I recall seeing Murray's SW On Greg Raven's site a few years ago. It's in there somewhere, but old news by now.

That's why I believe we should be a little more patient with folks seeking pro frame information. Too often Other TT vets (not Jack) smack down new members with stuff like "search". Yeah, they probably should, but with specs they can change or, more likely, old intel might be incorrect and someone has new intel that's more correct. Can't hurt to seek the latest info or re-confirm old intel.

(thanks Jack for that link...the 2012 Mercury info is interesting!...I use Dunlops but it was fascinating that my specs are close to Raymond's)

my friends and I bumped into a guy that was lucky enough to have andy murray give him one of his racquets. i played with it a bit. obvious paint job. pt75a (or something similar) on side throat and his name on other side. a little over even balance. nice on back hand. not very nice on forehand. not very heavy - around 335-345g i reckon. swing weight a little high for me. all in all it was a horrible set up for me.

Here are a few recent photos of Andy's rackets:

The two photos below confirm that Andy is using the PT57A mold:

I can also confirm that the weight is 345g (strung, and with overgrip).

Hope this can be of help,
