Hi guys, I am debating whether to wait for the extended version of the Ezone 100 or go for an extended length of the Angell TC100. Views and advice welcomed.
TC100 is my regular stick. I just purchased the EZONE 100 to try. My sticks are not extended length. It’s to early for me to compare as I only hit the ezone for around an hour. Good stick, big sweet spot, easy on ground strokes but it has very tough competition from the TC100. I’ll write more when I get more hours in with ezone and a couple of matches
Looking fwd to your review! My youngest plays with previous Ezone 100 and its a very easy to use racquet.TC100 is my regular stick. I just purchased the EZONE 100 to try. Do you use the 63 or 70ra TC100?I did modify the ezone so it’s closer to the specs of my TC100. I added a leather grip and some weight @12. With an OG, it’s 330g/32.1cm balance. My TC100s are 333g/32.4cm balance. Fairly close and strung up with confidential @53lbs when i string my TCs with revolution @54
They are not super far apart but not exact. So far, the two areas i need really to explore more is serve and volleys were the TC100 seems to outmatch the ezone but again, it’s too early
70 but keep in mind Angell quote RA for the custom frames prior to handle, grip going on and unstrung. So really it is around 66RA unstrungDo you use the 63 or 70ra TC100?
Yonex no question, better QC, better build quality and materials and made in Japan not China. Much larger organization backing up the product as well and US based parts availability and support.

I think he had an argument with Paul about making pallets available as a sales item. Started trashing Angell from that point on. Nothing to get worked up about. But you’re correct, if anything, you can order a second stick whenever ask for match to your original and get it with AngellNot sure how you can say better QC when you literally pick your specs on Angell sticks. My two I ordered were gram and balance perfect to each other and to the specs I ordered.

I have a pair of TC97 18x20 (320 gr 9 pts) and a pair of TC95 63RA 18x20 (330/10 pts) and none of the 4 were matched exactly, I had to tweak myself through trial and error to get exact same specs and balance. Granted they weren't all bought at the same time but still. My off the shelf Vcore 95 and Ezone 98's were very closely matched (also bought at different times)
I mean, could it possibly be because you ordered two different sets of racquets with two different weights and balance points? I'd be more interested in seeing how off the two pairs of TC97s and TC95s were.
Now, I'm not saying at all that Yonex has bad QC. They're for sure known for being excellent. I'm just saying that Angell is at least on par, in both build quality and quality control.
The specs for each pair ordered were identical 97's were 320 9pts, 95's were 330 10 pts. I don't recall the specifics but none of them were matched to the gram, IIRC it was around 3-4 grams off and balance point off by around 1 pt. I still disagree that build quality is on par with Yonex. I've never had a butt cap fall off on a Yonex during play or had to replace grommets because strings cut through them like hot butter.
Very nice review, thanks! Is that Ezone 8 mains in throat or 6?@haqq777 So far ezone 100 is a pretty nice stick. I did get it around the weight of my TC100s, it’s 3mm more HL and strung at same tension @53 however i am using confidential instead of revolution. Power is available and certainly ease of use, it just delivers its power a bit different then the TC100. TC100 hits a big heavy kicking ball and has the higher launch angle. The ezone hits with velocity, good spin and reacts better to lower trajectory. For a 69RA, truly no comfort issues at all and i do like the more direct feel. 1HBH is good no issues really if you go more top spin or wanna drive more. Some wicked slice as well but TC100 is extremely good in that regard as well. Volleys are excellent just missed a bit of that Angell thump a bit. On serve once again, kicking serves are just a TC100 mule's kick and not that the ezone doesn’t have a big serve but it does not match the kick of the TC100. It does serve a pretty big slice serve and is slightly more consistent on flats with good targeting. Overall, both powerful easy to use frames with the angell having a heavier kicking ball and the ezone a more whippy powerful and easier to hit more flattish with. Directional control a slight advantage to the ezone.
It is six but slightly tighter in the center then TC100 then opens up. Large sweet spot, not that i was complaining of the TC100 sweet spotVery nice review, thanks! Is that Ezone 8 mains in throat or 6?
Gotchya. Looks very interesting, I will add to my demo listIt is six but slightly tighter in the center then TC100 then opens up. Large sweet spot, not that i was complaining of the TC100 sweet spot
Diadem Nova 100 comes in tomorrow, and i’ll also add weight so it’s as close as possible to the other twoGotchya. Looks very interesting, I will add to my demo list
lol you are on a roll good sir! Hope to hear the Nova 100 feedback as well! Btw Do you know if the ezone 100 is foam filled or not?Diadem Nova 100 comes in tomorrow, and i’ll also add weight so it’s as close as possible to the other two
The Diadem is and of course TC but no idea if the ezone is. I popped open the butt cap and there is something there. Doesn’t look like silicone and doesn’t look like Angell foam. Kinda looks like a rice cake texturelol you are on a roll good sir! Hope to hear the Nova 100 feedback as well! Btw Do you know if the ezone 100 is foam filled or not?
Is it yellow? Than it's just a thin useless layer. The Diadem is and of course TC but no idea if the ezone is. I popped open the butt cap and there is something there. Doesn’t look like silicone and doesn’t look like Angell foam. Kinda looks like a rice cake texture
