Welcome to the 2011 Miami Masters Prediction League!

It's our TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY, but anyone at any time can play!

HOW TO PLAY:

For EVERY match, predict the winner and the number of sets it will take for the winning player to win the match. (EX: [1]R Nadal (ESP) vs [5] A Murray (GBR) - Murray in 4) If you predict the correct winner but in the wrong number of sets, you'll get THREE POINTS. If you predict both the correct winner and the correct number of sets, you’ll get FIVE POINTS.

Each predictor is also able to pick the winner and runner up of the tournament before the FIRST MATCH. At the conclusion of the tournament, two points will be given to each predictor who predicts a correct FINALIST and an additional three points if the FINALIST finishes in their predicted position of WINNER or RUNNER UP.

You can edit a pick until a particular match starts, however, please always make a new post quoting the original pick. DO NOT EDIT THE ORIGINAL POST.

PREDICTION LEAGUE DOUBLES HEAD TO HEAD CONTEST:

In addition to the regular tournament, each participant can pair up with another one and participate in a doubles tournament.

The doubles tournament is run similar to the FIFA World Cup. There are round robin rounds where you and your partner compete against doubles teams in your group. The top two or three teams from your group then move on to the knockout rounds. The exact format will depend on the number of doubles teams.

Welcome to the game boredone3456! And whomever is left over, I'll definitely partner you up. Good luck =)

For the Sony Ericsson Open H2H event, I am going to change it up a bit.

Here is the event info:

Group names: Andy Roddick Group, Andy Murray Group, Nikolay Davydenko Group, Novak Djokovic Group and Roger Federer Group (Trivia: What is the connection between these 5 guys?)

Event schedule:

Wednesday - RR1 (Matches #1-12)
Thursday - RR2 (Matches #13-24)
Friday - RR3 (Matches #25-36)
Saturday - RR4 ( Matches #37-48 )
Sunday - RR5 (Matches #49-60)
Monday - RR6 (Matches #61-72)
Tuesday - Qualifying Round ( Matches #73-78 )
Wednesday - Quarter-Finals (Matches #79-84)
Thursday - Semi-Finals (Matches #85-90)
Friday - Finals/3rd Place Day 1 (Matches #91-95)
Saturday - DAY OFF
Sunday - Finals/3rd Place Day 2 (Matches #91-95)

What both seffina and I have discussed is to allocate certain matches for each round robin day and knockout rounds so all Round Robin Days are equally based on the same number of matches. This will ensure that there are more matches for the Championship rounds and so everyone will have the same number of matches for each RR day.

If this is too confusing, please let me know and I'll further clarify this for you.

What I'll start doing is post my H2H event files online to the TW H2H League File. In case I cannot post the event schedules (i.e. every Monday until the end of April), then you guys can look into the league file to see whom your team is playing against that round robin day.

Let me know if you have any questions/problems/concerns etc.

If you do not want to post it online, you can always e-mail me too and I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Thanks

They all play on the ATP?

They're the last five winners of Miami too.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY THE PREDICTION LEAGUE!

It has definitely been fun for me running this game along side with seffina, Chelsea_Kiwi and Tennis_Maestro the past year =)

Big thanks to Tennis_Maestro for being the inventor of the game, Chelsea_Kiwi for introducing the H2H format and especially to seffina for running the game for the past 2 years (also to NYKings who occasionally steps in to help out seffina).

Most of all, thanks to all of our participants for continuing to make this game a huge success. I hope you guys will continue to play this game for many more years to come and continue to celebrate the Miami Masters anniversary event!

Onwards to Miami.. added current top ten image to the front post. Check on line spreadsheet tomorrow to see if you're signed in.

New players are very welcome!

Last year the draw came out around 1:30pm on Monday, so it should be out within two hours hopefully! Sign up, folks!

The draw takes place at 12.00 local time Florida. It takes awhile to get online on the ATP site but before that it usually leaks out through twitter posts of people associate with the tournament, press etc...

I was just going by the day and time that people started making winner/rup picks last year. :) Should be out soon, though. The women's draw is out on twitter.

H2H draw will be release on Tuesday night. If I do not post a schedule on the boards, it will be on the TW H2H League File.
