Another massive moment?

Was Dimitrov winning it last year a "massive moment"?

"NO. BECAUSE I WAS NOT THERE."

I think we should try not to overreact with every match. Yesterday, Djoko was almost unbeatable and would win every big title for the foreseeable future. Now, he's got almost no chance vs. a player he's rekt'ed twice in the last month. But as @vive le beau jeu ! wrote, it's probably not a coincidence that Djoko's last 3 losses are to Tsits, Khach and Zverev. @Meles may finally be on to something, but Djoko remains my pick for the guy to beat next year. But Zverev could well be his biggest threat, at the very least after Rafa.

Also, see what I'm saying with the repetitiveness of @Sabratha - it ain't the Lord's work.
Well at the start of the Summer season I saw only Zverev and Kyrgios as potential big serving threats to Djokovic. Might as well add Medvedev to your list. Nole has some new opponents to play with instead of the familiar pigeons and it should be an interesting time. This should motivate him, but we'll see.

The scary thing about Zverev is he is still young and his already fairly big serve game is going to improve a lot well into his career. His speed will probably also keep improving for two more years. Slam stamina will arrive for him eventually. And lets not forget that WTF is the opposite of any tournament or slam as Zverev got days off after his first three best of three matches. WTF was tailor made for him to have his first breakthrough. Still at a very young age Zverev has won his first WTF just like Djokovic.

I'm a Zverev fan, but let's not forget about Khach who didn't even get a chance to play this tournie.
Given Khach's recent form I'd go with him over Zverev at the moment.
Khach has been impressive, but Zverev at his best still has the edge. Don't see Khachanov in Paris final form beating Zverev in WTF final form. At slams in 2019 good chance Khach will have better results as Zverev still needs to improve his efficiency; Khachanov when on song seems to have an easier time with his serve games which is a big edge at majors.

Djokovic hadn't been broken in the entire tournament and only faced two breakpoints before the final. His level was highest we've ever seen. Certainly could have won the title if not for Zverev.
LOL. Zedrot is just a rough matchup like Wawrinka. Zverev like Djoko in 2008 still has a ways to go.;)

No,it doesn't have that feel to me. It's not a grand slam match,it's the final match of the season where Djokovic obviously wasn't at his best physically.mentally,emotionally.
LOL. Basically Djoko not fit enough when the familiar pigeons aren't there to roll over for him. He was at his best for most of the first set.;)

That may be the second major match in two days where one of the big three simply didn’t look capable of beating a much younger opponent.

We’ve all seen it in the old days with Rosewall against Connors, McEnroe against Agassi, Agassi against Nadal, Federer against Zverev. Matches where, no matter what the older player did, they simply didn’t look capable of winning: they looked rather like a remnant of a previous generation whose time has passed.

This match had that feeling.

Is this the natural tennis order finally being restored again?
No, not really.

The only reason Z isn't a pigeon for Djokovic is that they haven't played enough. 2-2 is nothing to be read into, hell even Kyrgios won 2 straight against Djokovic...

I'm saying Tsitsipas, Khachanov, Zverev, et al are not the same old pigeons rinse and repeat. Its not just Zverev.;)
