Another record for the Maestro!

Most weeks in Top 100 ... Andre Agassi held the record at 1019 weeks; now Roger is at 1020 :)

Edit: 1018 of these weeks are consecutive. 20 times 52 is 1,040. So, in 22 weeks Roger will celebrate 20 straight years of Top 100 tenniso_O:notworthy::cool:

He has so many ATP records.

I don't think his total number of records will never be broken since he's way ahead of the pack.

Roger made the top 100 in September 1999 and dropped out immediately just to come back a couple of weeks later and stay there until now. So, 1018 weeks are consecutive.... naturally, it is yet another record

Edit: it is 1018, not 1019 as I had written. Well, it will be 1019 next week, though :p

anyone else really hate the nickname 'The Swiss Maestro'? lol its so lame

'The Swiss Maestro' is redundant. There is only one Maestro and he is, of course, Swiss. So, just 'The Maestro'... elegant and precise, just like his game.

I can't see Federer getting out of the top 100 even if he plays till 42-43.:D

Isn't he already guaranteed a Top 100 for at least another year already? The points he earned in the last couple of weeks should be enough, no?

Exactly The Maestro!

I mean who else could we possibly be referring to!?

Kitty, I hope you don't mind when I use that idiom. How do you do that? I need to know NOW :). Doing some stupid work from home. Shoot, translating. I need a day off, darn.

Can Maestro get off of tennis world back for a change and let youngster play ? If he enjoys tennis so much, he can still play it at amateur level, can learn future generations few tricks and so on...
What is his impact now ? He can't beat healthy Djokovic in Slams and Nadal on clay, so apart from waiting clay season to be over or Djokovic to have some surprising blowouts, all he can do is vulture more weeks, points and non Slam trophies. That is not how I imagine GOAT of any sport.

Not sure about both statements (and you know I am not a Federer fan).

Time will tell, anyway. You could be right.

Tell Djokovic and Nadal to retire if you're so concerned about the youngsters.

Great record. So important that we all knew that Agassi holds it. Right?

No joke, Fed hold one of two really important records considering ranking, 310 weeks, for one more year, at least...

Excellent, but longevity didn't make Ferrer greater than Borg.

True. But neither it is the reason why he isn't. Disparity of results is.

It's not like Roger is clinging to the 85th spot in the rankings in order to barely eke out this record. The guy is winning Masters tournaments and leading the race to London while being ranked 4th in the world, for krissakes.

But of course you know all this :)

At 38 he's still has the greatest impact on the sport than Djokodal. Nole is always the third fiddle.

He has nothing more to prove since he's already established GOAT. Anymore win is a bonus.

What kind of impact, be precise. He is not delegating for lower rankers to be better paid, he is not helping anyone succeed in his career, on the contrary.
I thought you of all people would agree that he should go. You made thread enough with big3 winning didn't you ?
