Any Arm Problems with these Racquets?

As you can tell from my other post, I'm looking for a racquet in the 10.8 to 11.3 ounce range that gives nice pop (especially on serves), excellent spin, solid groundstrokes, and allows for amazing play at the net. Below are some of the racquets that's under Demo Consideration.

Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex
Babolat Pure Storm
Babolat Pure Drive Standard Cortex

Fischer MSpeed Pro Number One Light
Fischer Magnetic Tour Light

Prince O3 White

Tecnifibre TFeel 305 (16x19)

Volkl Classic V1 Silver

Wilson nPro Open nCode
Wilson nPro Surge nCode
Wilson K Factor KSix-One Team (10.9 oz)

Yonex RDS002 (10.9 oz)

Has anyone experienced any arm problems with any of the racquets mentioned below?

I know it's best to demo but I don't think that I'd be able to tell if a racquet caused arm problems after only one week...especially when trying it along side three other racquets. Also, if a racquet causes arm problems I can eliminate it from the list of possible demos.

If you can supply any feedback on the racquet other than how it feels to the arm, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

i don't know if this will help much but here is what i can say. when i demoed the wilson npro surge, it was the "X" version, meaning it was a half inch longer(27.5 inches) after doing a few groundstrokes and a couple serves my shoulder wasn't happy at all. and the only reason i could find for that was the extra half inch of length. but otherwise i can't say much

i would just try demoing and just avoid racquets with stiffness above 66. I think pure drives can kill your arm unless you have solid technique. Just demo and see if its harsh but i mean i tried a wilson hammer 5.2 mp and its stiffness is 75 and i didnt experience any soreness after a few days as long as you always hit the sweetspot and dont miss hit it.

demoed the K-ZEN and was very impressed have played with the PDR and the Zen compares very favorably its a little lighter but it is very comfortable IMO

Hi -

I've been using the Storm for a bit and while it's been great for my wrist and game, there is something starting with my elbow and it isn't good. I have to add that I was doing a bunch of dirt and mulch hauling when the elbow started, so that could be a factor. Still, it's about two weeks later and I think it may be due to the Storm. It's weird because it really doesn't hurt at all playing but the next several days, I'm icing.

I'm going to give it a try in another week when my leagues start back up but if the elbow hurts, I'm going to the C10.

PS The Storm is nice on most shots. I wouldn't say it is a dominating serving frame but beat the 500 RDX MP I was using.

I'm currently using the Head Microgel Extreme. My arm has rebelled against overly stiff racquets in the past, but so far it seems to like the Extreme.

For me, the Extreme is producing all of the things listed in your requirements: nice pop, excellent spin, solid groundstrokes, and amazing play at the net. It weighs it at 11.1 oz.

You might consider adding it to your potentials list.

BBB, you've been looking for the "ideal" racket for at least 3 years. I thought you had found it as I hadn't seen you post for a while. What were you using for that time? Have you experimented with strings/tension as much as you have rackets? You might have the "ideal" racket and not even know it.

Unless you are 60, arm problems are usually due to BS technique. I used to get tennis elbow with an m-fil 300 and syn gut but now that my technique is all cool, I can use a PD standard with full luxilon.

Up until about 3 weeks ago I had taken close to 9 months off from tennis (therefore not using a racquet at all). It's been numerous things keeping me away: found out we were having our second child on July 28th, my father passed away on July 29th, father-in-law passed away in the fall, mother broke her hip after that, mom had seizure during rehab and had to start all over, found out I had skin cancer, had skin cancer removed with Mohs surgery (and plastic surgery), coached golf from Feb to May, wife lost job, etc. Therefore not much time for tennis.

I may have the perfect racquet in my closet...but after having playtested the 11 ounce racquets I really like the quickness at net with them. Only racquet under 11.7 ounces I have is the Maxply McEnroe and haven't been able to find a string to use in it to make if feel as soft and solid as I would like.

I think I'll demo four of the racquets mentioned above, find the one that best fits my game, and then adjust the string and tension from there.

Thanks for your input.

If I use what I think to be the ideal specs: stiffness 66 or lower, beam width less than 26mm, open string pattern (16 mains), some pop available on the serve, and swingweight between 305 and 325, it looks as though the following stand out:

Babolat Pure Storm

Dunlop MFil 200 (16x19)

Fischer M Speed Pro Number One Light

Prince O3 White

Yonex RDS002 (10.9 oz)

Not sure of the "serving power" part but the rest of the specs seem to be pretty close.

Didn't you try the PK type R for TW? It is an excellent racquet in all areas of the game and it will never give you any arm problems.
If you want something even lighter with still good stability look at the Volkl V1 line of racquets.
