There are some who play at Arroyo but the majority is at Dyer. That's where the league teams are based too. There are also guys who play at Mt. Eden in Hayward. You and your peers are welcome to drop by. I don't know what skill level you are but you should be able to find a good match. Most people play doubles though but the skill level goes from 2.5 - 4.5. From time to time a 5.0 will show up (very rare though).

Burosky when do you usually play at Hall Ranch? I live just down the street on Dyer and UC Blvd. I'm about a 4.5 as well (and filipino which is why I was checking out this thread) and am always looking for new folks to hit with. I've only lived in norcal a few years so I don't know a lot of people.

I haven't played at Hall Ranch for a while. We've been hitting at Mt. Eden on the weekends. We usually start at around 8:00. You can just drop by either Hall Ranch or Mt. Eden. Don't be shy to introduce yourself to people at either place. Everyone at either court are quite friendly.

I think most of the Pinoy posters here are US based but Il Mostro knows about a lot of the tennis activity in Davao City. Try contacting him.....

The Philippines episode of No Reservations just aired last night Feb 16. I'm pretty sure they will be showing this over and again. I'm glad Tony voted the Cebu lechon the best ever.

Hoy! I'm curious about the playing styles of some pinoys. Anybody here serve and volley? A lot of people I know are baseliners, they come in every now and then to pressure... but no one really chips and charges anymore, except me.

any thoughts or opinions?

most players i know are doubles specialists, so i can see many can serve and volley as well.

Is is true that former #1 Philippines player and Davis Cup Player Joseph Lizardo is moving to Los Angeles to teach? Anyone know where? Will his wife MTV Asia veejay Belinda Panelo be there if I get a private lesson?

That would be cool if he did come to LA. I play in Moreno Valley with 2 former Davis Cup players here and another from Redlands comes over every once in a while.

Didn't know this was a thread. My mom is Filipino and my dad is american (he was in the military). I was born in the states. Mom spoke more Ilocano than Tagalog. Unfortunately, I was never brought up speaking any.

What' up guys. Pinoy from Vegas here. My mom is Bicolana and my dad is Ilocano. Speaking of the Philippines, I was just there in April. I'm going back in August. Maybe next time I'll be able to play on the crushed sea shell tennis courts that I've heard a lot about.

I'm not filipino but I have 2 filipino friends who often invite me to eat dinner at their place. Their mothers are excellent cooks. Filipinos are the loudest but coolest asians ever and the women always sing at home, when cooking, cleaning etc.

Filipinos are a special group of people (in a good way). I'm happy to know some of them. Not a lot of Filipinos in Sweden though, most asians here are from Vietnam and they are quite the opposite of the filipinos, they are usually timid and only hang out with other vietnamese folks.

Oh, and i'm probably among the minority of white folks who can clearly see the difference between chinese, japanese and filipino facial attributes.

Kumusta kayo, mga pare at kapwang fans sa laro ng tennis!

My wife is Filipino, born in the Philippines, naturalized U.S. citizen so she is an American. I am a person of color born in Indiana, U.S.A., so I"m an American too. My wife contends that I'm more Filipino than she because she's a vegetarian while I'm a total carnivore who loves pork/chicken adobo, lechon, kare-kare, and any other rich Filipino meat dish, which is why I have to run around the tennis court

rommil thanks for the links.

That was Philippe Nover in one of the videos wasn't it? Did he make it to the UFC?

Still looking for the adidas track jacket? I just bought one on the auction site a couple of months ago. I guess it doesn't really matter if it's original or not...they're all made in the homeland anyways.

Didn't know about Nover until saw those sidelinks from Youtube. I have seen Brandon Vera though on several clips on Youtube (and speaks fluent Tagalog wow).I started listening to Deep Foundation a few months ago but those 2 songs really makes me miss home like crazy everytime I watch it.
Thanks for asking about the track jacket but Theduh hooked me up from Pi though I still am waiting for my cousins to bring it over. How was yours? The colorway and design looks sick from the pics and videos. I am sure I will be wearing it a lot. I can't wait.
BTW where are you from?

Originally? Mom is Cebuano and my dad grew up in Pasig. Here I call Orange County home. Any chance you're in the So Cal area? If so let's hit the courts.

If my jacket is a fake, it's a pretty good one. Color is spot on and everything is stitched well. I wore it a poker tournament recently and got some compliments.
