Originally? Mom is Cebuano and my dad grew up in Pasig. Here I call Orange County home. Any chance you're in the So Cal area? If so let's hit the courts.

If my jacket is a fake, it's a pretty good one. Color is spot on and everything is stitched well. I wore it a poker tournament recently and got some compliments.

Thanks for the invite and will definitely do that if I'm over there. I have cousins in Torrance. They took me one time to Carson and man, the restaurants were everywhere.
So, you speak Bisaya or Tagalog? My province Bohol is next to Cebu, your mom will recognize it. Next time I go home I will be in the hunt for a Bisdak shirt.
So yeah , I'll be wearing that track suit when it comes.
BTW anything from the Filipino community that's up and coming from that area?

Ok sir since your mom is from Cebu and if you really want to make her laugh show these to her (if you don't understand Bisaya don't worry there's nothing offensive here):

My aunt and uncle are there in the PI right now. They said they were going to stop by Bohol either to vacation or see friends, one of the two.

-Jon

That's neat. I hope they enjoy Bohol and the whole vacation. Where in PI are they originally from?

They were originally from Cavite but migrated to Mindanoa (sp?) My dad went to medical school in the "Mother Land" as well. Hopefully I will be visiting some of our family back home soon.

Yea they do. My Dad can speak 7 other Filipino dialects at the same time. LOL its funny to hear some times because when we're at the tennis courts and he's in a big group he'll speak multiple dialects to different guys according to where they are from and not miss a beat. He's also fluent in Thai as well.

My mom isn't tech savvy so I'll have to share these vids with her the next time she visits. I can hear my mom and her sisters laughing already. My dad and some of my titos can only smile when they speak in bisaya as they only know tagalog. I envy those that can speak Bisaya, tagalog, or any other dialect.

btw, nothing new from the so cal area besides going to the Wild Card boxing club to see Manny train when he's preparing for a fight.

Hopefully I'll be able to catch the next Dodger game when the Giants come to visit so I can watch Tim Lincecum pitch. I didn't learn he was half pinoy until recently. Now he's my favorite player in the mlb (even if he pitches for the Giants).

Hey Sheldon , finally got the jackets today after waiting for the longest time lol. I love the colorway and it's thicker than I expected, it be perfect in the fall or spring. The small and medium don't have a big difference so I am settling for the small(sleeker looking). Thank you again......

Yeah its just an opinion. I'm a fan of Cotto as well, but that fight with Antonio Margarito exposed some weaknesses that can easily be exploited.

Passing of Corazon Aquino

Any love for Cory Aquino, who passed this past week after a long illness? She represented "People Power" after the deposing of Marcos. Many memorial services going on now in the Philippines for her.

I haven't played at Hall Ranch for a while. We've been hitting at Mt. Eden on the weekends. We usually start at around 8:00. You can just drop by either Hall Ranch or Mt. Eden. Don't be shy to introduce yourself to people at either place. Everyone at either court are quite friendly.

Burosky if you read still read this thread where are the Mt Eden courts - are they at the park on Tennyson? I drove by there this morning but there was no one on the courts...

The courts are the one off of Tennyson. There are only two courts in the area. One over at Sleepy Hollow and the Mt. Eden courts. Mt. Eden is the one with 4 courts. You must have gone somewhere else. We were there this morning till around noon.

The listed address is 2451 W Tennyson, Hayward. You can also go to Veterans park in Union City for some action specially on the weekends. Pretty much any Filipino there can give you directions to Mt. Eden too.

Just wondering if any of you guys have relatives who were affected by the recent typhoon and flooding it caused. My relatives were lucky to be not directly affected. If you do, I hope your relatives are alright.

Great - thanks. I live just down the street where the new Costco is going up. Might drop by one of these weekends.

I like to see all the pinoy playerers here on the TW boards. There is a BIG filipino tennis community here in Vallejo in NorCal.

Check out my site in my sign for events in Northern California. There is a link to the Filipino-run, Lizardo tennis academy in Cerritos, Ca.

Basis of opinion

Pacquiao sucks.

Basis of opinion? Lousy fighter? Bad person? Sex offender? Trash talks his opponents? Bad mouths the United States of America? Non-Christian? Abuses animals? Hates tennis? Is effeminate? Inquiring minds want to know.

I live in a Filipino neighborhood and I love Filipinos and lots of my tennis partners and junior players at the club are Filipinos. I have not yet met an unfriendly Filipino but I am sure they have to exist according to the laws of probability.

I have observed that many Filipino men lose hair as they age and Filipino women become fat and not attractive any more after a certain age.

Wait a minute - that is true for most men and women, not just Filipinos.
