anyone here play with a two hand backhand for ping pong like i do?

:) Not really a good option, because you can get jammed by shots at your body, but it can be a good time. I actually messed around for a while playing with two handed forehands and backhands, and it was very fun. I beat many tournament level players playing that way. I noticed that holding with two hands helps maintain the proper angle of your paddle to the ball, which can be helpful for new players.

i actually am quite good at fending off body shots with a reverse one hand backhand with alot of spin, i just use the two hander for balls that i can extend on a flatten out

i thought i was the only one using 2hbh's back in the day. it helped with my topspin shot, but obviously it's not AS efficient and AS good as a 1hbh. You don't see ANY pro's using a 2hbh or fh... should tell u something ;o

now i have the Juic smasher and the tsunami.

I want to sell both. lol..

the tsunami is very sticky AND very fast. The Smasher is pretty much just as sticky but a lot slower.

when i play tt i play it like tennis
i use a etreme western fh
2hbh
extreme topspin
always patient
when i return i go for it all
Could you explain me HOW, please?

The Extreme Western FH and the 2HBH sound impossible in ping pong.
As for myself, I'm a straight counterpuncher, taking everything on the rise and right off the bounce. Fantastic against penholders.

Let me tell you something and I'm going to give it to you straight, Ping Pong is a more physically demanding sport then Tennis. I burn more calories playing hardcore Ping Pong then I do playing tennis, God's honest truth.

So yes I am a hardcore Ping Ponger

I won't go that far, because each is very demanding in its own way, but yes, table tennis played at a reasonably high level with a reasonably athletic style is very, very demanding. I play a very active modern defence style of table tennis, kind of like Chen Weixing, covering lots of ground and throwing my body in all directions. After a hard couple hours of practice counter topspins and chopping from far behind the table, my legs and back are aching. Table tennis counter looping uses lots of body turning vs. just arm, and this can be very demanding on many muscle groups.

Juic Smasher is a good paddle for me. I think I could use a little less speed on my forehand side, though. I'm finally hitting topspin backhand shots pretty consistently!

as far as a slower forehand...use a rubber with a thinner sponge.

Thats pretty much all you can do unless you want to change blades with a slower wood and less plys...

hey guys, i recently played a buddy of mine at his house (which is the only place i know around me with a table!). i caught on real quick after watching some videos on youtube. my topspin fh and bh feel really natural. tennis helped a ton with the strokes, even though they are different. i think i am going to try to play with that buddy more often and probably pick up a cheap blade off one of the sites already mentioned upthread.
