Low-down on this machine is that is made by ExThree, which also makes the Head, Alpha, Dunlop, Prince. Plenty of the parts are the same, but clearly Yonex have had a hand in the overall aestetic design. It should be a solid machine. Price is rumored to ab around the $5k

Thanks Paul:)

I see many company are coming out ith next gen machines for a premium price. Not surprised with the rising cost of other tennis related items.

I think that Tecnifibre Ergonomic One has been the most recent useful and stringer focused machine as it is meant for travel and still professional tournament ready machine.

This Yonex design is very appealing however is this the companies way of marketing to stringers by just changing the color, design without the real upgrade needed and just charging us more... Star 5 was in the mid 3000usd on retail... now 6—9k is the standard??? Cost of living and material I guess.

If companies are picking pre made part and adding a new shell and charge extra 1000-2000$ That’s a shame.

@Smittithekitty I agree. Was having the same discussion with a distributor in UK about the prices, seeing how they've gone up but maybe quality isnt quite the same. But cost of resources etc have gone up, so it has knock on effect. Star 5 was £2800 + 20% Tax. Now you're looking at £3500 + 20% tax for Prince/Dunlop/Head machines.

Not sure if the new Yonex machine can be used as table top; while the other similar machines can be.

It will be interesting to see if the minor issues with OEM machines make it onto the Yonex machine. Things like speed of pre-stretch and set 10% of knot tension.

Although it does have an accessible USB port on the side.

Thanks for your feedback:)

USB well I hope it does more than charge you phone.

I was hoping in the future there would be a program that is updated real time on network where it store data such as time, tension, user info, type of string or whatever data. Having more in depth data on the stringing aspect. I’m sure it’s in the work but imagine players data is tracked on line live and no matter where he is stringers could get the info in real time.

I assume its only a charging USB. No indication of anything else.

The Babolat Racket Station top models were due to have a software program to incorporate customers details inc string & tension. When you access the customers records the machine would set the tension automatically. This info could also be accessed via computer. But data protection has been an issue, so not sure how far down the line its gone.

Does Yonex make better machines than Wilson or Babolat ?
Depends on what you define as better. Babolat machines are far and away the consensus best clamps. Wilson has the height variability and excellent build quality. Yonex machines are a hard sell from what I've seen due to price, same for the Tecnifibre machines. Both brands machines are solid, not exceptional, and both are extremely high priced. Knowing that Yonex, Alpha, Head, Prince, Dunlop are all made in the same factory, I go with Alpha strictly based on cost. You're getting a very comparable machine for 60% of the price of other machines made in the same factory with more recognizable names.

So here is my experience. When the same string job comes off Wilson machine vs Babolat machine,, they feel different. that is very odd. Babolat 5 star top of the line comes off with softer string bed than Wilson top of the line machine. Wilson machine string job comes off with stiffer string bed, not sure why. I prefer the string job from Wilson machine due to this feel. Where does Yonex machine fit in ?

No clue on that as I haven't used it. Are we sure the machines are calibrated properly? Typically Babolat pulls tighter than the Wilson because it over pulls the tension and settles down. Interesting that you've had an inverse experience.

Well my friend has uploaded some photos

The shape is very modern and sexy... I wish it was another color..

I don’t like the fact that the plug is at the floor, but probably easily hidden compared plugging into the unit.

Not so happy about those wolverine type clamps

Pretty basic screen very old school vibe which throws me off from the modern design

Baiardo type tension head at least the silver reminds
Me of it

Looks like they took from many machines and just made a Frankenstein version. It’s no Protech that’s for sure
