Just wondering if you'll have any new Asics coming soon, particularly GR7. Seems like a while since anything new came out. Thanks!

    Shaolin,

The new Solution Speed FF (update to the 3) will be launching in a couple days. There will be a new GR7 Novak launching in about a week or so. There are two more GR7 colors launching, one in July and one in August (along with a Court FF).

    Thanks,
    Brittany, TW

    Hi TW,
Will the Gel Resolution have any updates to it, or will is Asics sticking with the GR7 model for the rest of the year?
    Thanks!

Why did Asics stop making wide width shoes?

Also.... Why are their running shoes wide fitting in general, but the tennis shoes rather narrow?

Both great questions! Unfortunately, I don't know the answers to either of them. It would be something Asics would have to answer.

    Thanks,

Just bought the Speed FF last week and they are amazing so far. That flexible flytefoam midsole makes a big difference in terms of shock absorption and comfort. Hopefully, the Resolution 8 will get the new FF midsole too. The claim that they have gel inside of the heel and forefoot is false. The regular foam that makes up the midsole in the GR7 is pretty stiff and loses its flex after a month or so. I play at a UTR 12 level and I'm also a coach at the National Tennis Center in NYC. The outsole on the GR7 lasted me about 70 days after which I decided to cut them up to see if I can find any gel inside the midsole. To much of my surprise, there was none and I have the pictures to prove it :). Unless Asics infuses the gel into the foam, there was no visual evidence of any gel material throughout the midsole.

do you like the Speed FF more than your GR7?

The Speed FF looks a lot more lower to the ground and thinner than the GR7 so i assume less comfort and more impact shock despite the new flytefoam. Your opinion?

I like the midsole flexibility on the Speed FF, the wider upper and the lighter weight a lot more than the GR7. As for the categories where the GR7 is better, I would include outsole durability, 6month warranty (I usually go through the outsole of the GR7 within 70 days), thicker toe drag rubber, thicker laces, more cushion around the heel, grippier fabric on the inside of the shoe (the Speed FF has a pretty slippery fabric)
