Any new info on Nike Vapor 10 tennis shoe?

How come we haven't heard anything for the new V10 compared to 9.5 vapors.

Will the Vapor 10's solve the problem of poor drag on placement on the low sections of the shoe where it easily grinds out.

C'mon Nike Don't **** up this time that mesh by the rubber guard is useless.

Somebody make a better toe guard that will last. The new Nike Vapor 10's better be PERFECT. NO MORE BS the Vapor 9-9.5 only last a few practice sessions. There better be a smarter toe drag guard so it doesn't burn thru the shoe.

Cheers.

Probably because the 9.5's came just this year (like 3.5 months ago). The shoes come out once a year or even more.
Gotta be patient my child.

Too early.

Give it another 2 months.

Look at the Wilson Pro Rush 2 vs the Nike Vapor 9-9.5 in terms of quality side toe drag protection. There is no comparison.

Ohh and check my Nike Vapor 9 with excellent tread still on the bottom. But the mesh burned out super fast and the lace holder had exposed sponge out of the box on a brand new shoe...I have never seen such cheap craftsmanship I was beginning to think they were knock offs but sadly they were not. I think even the knock offs would have made them better and beaten Nike in quality.

the foam shows on all the vapors, thats how they were designed

I know, I'm not surprised that Nike is cutting corners on labour and materials and increasing the cost if the shoe even though the quality of the shoe is drastically dropping.

Show me another manufacturer that is so bold to show yellow internal sponge from a brand new shoe visible at the laces.

The Pro Rush is also a lot heavier than the Vapor.

Yes it's heavier and ventilation is not as good and it's stiff. But the one side toe drag adds very little weight and is very flexible. They need to adapt something like that on the new Vapor 10. All the Vapor 10 needs is a good side toe drag that's it really.

The Nike Lunar Rafa Nadal are garbage your feet heat up like a furnace ventilation is absolutely atrocious. Good looking shoe though other than that massive Nike logo on it. White/red combo.

Yeah the stinking vapors hooked me in a few years back. They fit perfect to my foot, which is hard to find, are light and look great. I gave up trying to find an alternative.

Looked at the wilsons when you posted about them though, and they are about the same price and heavier, so no dice for me.

I agree with all your points, it's a good shoe but not a great shoe. The quality could be better and the toe drag placed in a proper spot. They aren't cheap after taxes etc $150+. Obviously one would want the product to fit the price. All my buddies have the same issues at the court and we're just waiting for a manufacturer that will come out with something better if Nike doesn't. I'm not buying another pair of Vapors until Nike fixes these issues.

I took my Nike Vapors to a shoe repair shop and he said he could fix the hole on the side with a good patch job for $15 that will last a long time better than the original so that's what I'll do.

True. The little rubber "membrane" that connects the toe guard to the triangle-shaped side guard protection is so thin it tore when my friends accidentally stepped on them. Disappointing.

You beat me to it. With his glowing reviews I'm sure Nike will be sending their corporate jet to fly him to headquarters and put him in charge of future designs.

Nike's design department is not stupid. They are making these shoes to purposely not last long so people but more pairs as well make them as cheaply as possible to maximize profit margins. The only way they change the design is if we stop buying Nike Vapors.

Yes I know that little rubber "membrane" on the Vapor is useless.

Wait until your friend tries to stop for a drop shot or puts too much pressure on a lateral move. The toe guard on the Vapor's will actually pull the mesh and "rip" the mesh around the outside of the toe guard.

Here is an example pic. I'm not sure what burns faster lighting $150+ on fire with a match or wearing Vapors.

I hope they don't change the technology too much in the current shoe which I think is almost perfect with the exception of durability. They can do some incremental improvements but keep the Zoom Air technology and stay away from Lunarlon like they did when they went from Vapor 6 to Vapor 7. Otherwise I am going to have to stock up on the Vapor 9.5s.

Babolast - let us know what your thoughts when you get a chance to see the SP16 catalog in a few months.

Calling it now: raised collar around the ankle

this very well could be considering they have place "dynamic fit collars" on all their high end soccer cleats as well as some of their football cleats and serena is wearing a built in ankle brace on her shoes. My question would be how they can make something durable enough for tennis that will hold up, flyknit just doesn't seem up to the task, but i could be wrong

Thought I'd get in there early with the guess. I think the fact that Serena is using it without any promotion is a sign of its potential.
I know what you mean in terms of durability but they're introducibg some boots soon with a synthetic shoe and the collar built into that, so could be a way around the durability (unless you slide on your ankles, but self inflicted in that case).

I would never buy these shoes with flyknit it wouldn't even take a second to burn a whole in them by scrubbing your side two for a shot and the shoes are useless after. These shoes are for Wimbledon not club players. They would damage so so easy.

I tend to agree. They haven't touched the Vapor 9.5 because it is selling like hotcakes and pretty close to perfect for the target market. Why a toe dragger would ever think a shoe that is supposed to be light and breathable and clearly has a lot of mesh is a good idea is anyone's guess :D
