Any news about 2023 Dunlop CX 200?

GN-001

Semi-Pro
The Dunlop CX 200 has been out for a while now, since start of 2021? I'm currently using the 2018/2019 version of the CX 200+ and it's my favourite racquet. Sad they discontinued the extended.

Interested to see what the new ones would look like.

Yes rep told me anywhere from end of this year to early next. Could be an AO debut with the APAC region being popular with Dunlop and Japanese ownership
Yep, January 15th rep said today. The new CX frames paint jobs are beautiful and they hit awesome but I’m really psyched about the color of the new bags.

The new line will naturally be 2024, even if it was released in late -23. Only fools would label their products 2023 if they were released in Q4, or even in Q3, of this year.

I think that if the made the Cx 200 tour a 98" 11.9 ounce frame with a 325 Swing weight, 64 RA and 6 pts HL, it would be the best frame on the market. The 200 series all the way back to the revelation and Muscle weave series have had such great feel and precision but I feel for todays game a 95" turns away lots of players that would use it if it was a 98". Just my opinion.

Are they still platform frames or have they amped up the swing weights and increased the stability even in stock form? Any changes in head shapes?
Yep still a platform frame. 310g for 16x19 and 315g on 18x20. Head shape matches my current CX tours as well as the two prior paint job I have. However the inside edge is rolled more at the tip from 10-2. Only really noticed by feel when the rep pointed it out. Was told this was to keep the same plush feel even though they bumped the stiffness to 65. It seems to work as they felt just as solid and plush as the past two iterations. I really did not notice either really being stiffer feeling.

What about the regular CX 200, any changes? Have you gotten to play with them?

Thanks for providing info on them!

Wait so the new CX line will be in a burgundy color? Sad that they are not bringing back the Cx200+

The pics I saw had red with some orange and theyve moved the black that used to be on the side of the frame to the top of the hoop (sort of similar to what Wilson was doing a few years ago).

The tour is supposed to be a bit stiffer at 65RA but theyve changed something with the grommets so it flexes more to help with it still feeling soft despite the higher RA.

Sounds intriguing. I hope wilson follows this trend and moves the blades RA to 65. I think both the CX and blade can still retain their great feel at that stiffness.

Does the regular CX200 also have a higher RA?

I have both the CX 400 Tour (RA 67) and FX 500 Tour (RA 66) and the CX feels so much stiffer of the two.

If the new one is stiffer I’m honestly glad I picked up 8 of the black ones, haha. I’d been waiting for dunlop to release a black control frame for forever and when they did I didn’t wanna miss it, so I stocked up for life after I played with and liked one of them. I am excited to see what people think of the new one though.

I hope they would give the regular 98 the same beautiful head shape as the 95s. The current 98 isn't any wider than the 95, the extra three sq are all length.

I use the CX Tour 18*20 and do not want a 98. There are so many 98s around. I love the maneuverability of the 95 which I measure by how easy it is to feed non-topspin balls without a preparatory bounce baseline to baseline without a warmup. A bigger head will make it awkward.

I should have a hitter to try in 3-4 weeks and will report on it. I have the current ones and prior model in both patterns so I will compare them all. This is for the 200 tours.

We are getting 6 of the new CX in about two days. I can tell you I'm not the biggest fan of new colorway, but the increased stiffness and different drill pattern are very very enticing. Will be playtesting it soon, I'll drop a video about it as soon as Dunlop drops embargo.

There is a promotional hitting session in Japan in mid-December. I am not an industry insider, but I am guessing specs etc. will be announced next month.

How's the drill pattern different, more evenly spaced in the middle?

Yes, more traditional spacing, no more odd shaped center squares/rectangles. The last cross is much lower on the 16x19 than the current ones. I’ll be playing the two patterns in the next couple of weeks as well to test against my current ones and the prior black with red ones too.

Looking forward to your review, love your content! I've gotten the rackets in hand, all 6 specs. I haven't strung them yet (need to take promo pics and stuff) but the drill looks different from a first impression.
Agreed, drill pattern is different and better at least to me. I hit both of them last month when the rep brought them by. Both were strung with Dunlop poly and I hit them against my 200 tours of each pattern. Used the ball machine at the shop but still got the feel of the new ones. To me they felt very close to mine and mine have gut/Alu in them. Looking forward to setting up the new ones with my string choice and tension for a real comparison

surprised more companies don't try and copy what head has done and make a 100sq in 18 x 20 racquet like the gravity. the dunlop CX users would probably love a racquet like that

I think Dunlop cx200 tour 2024 i16 x19 s alot better than head gravity, they don't need to copy it. I think opposite . I'm suprised head r not copying dunlop. The 95 inch is far easier to use than 100 inch head gravity 4 me & as more power & control & bigger sweertspot even though 95 inch head. I've tried alot of racket but this one is best brcause as control ,power, stability & remains easy to maneuvre.. It's deceptive because it as controllable power. Not many have that.

fair enough! i couldn't get used to the 16 x 19 tour personally but i do love the line and my 18 x 20

Have u trued cx200 tour 16 x19 2024 version they changed everything . It's now flat beam. Changed head shape & string spaceing. They also made beam is

thicker. It's best racket u've trued . Alot diff to old versii. It us stiffer & powerful. The 2024 tiyr 16 x19 is so much diff to older versiins. Which one did u try?. It's not same as b4 at all. I have last 3 versions . But yes it's now alot better than gravity. It's prob no.1 control racket 2 me so they r never gonna b copying gravityl..With Gravity i had hard time swinging ut & ball was swerving on groundstrojes. It was too heavy4me & tiring 4 me. New tour feels like u r going through ball with an hamner while remaining easy to swing. With Gravity u need 2b very strong.

once they went on sale end of last year, i tried the tour 18 20, tour 16 19, and regular 98 all from tennis warehouse. i got along with the 18 20 tour, unsurprisingly, and the 98, that one surprised me a lot, but couldn't get used to the 16 x 19 tour. i'm enjoying the 18 x 20 tour enough right now to just stick with it but maybe i'll try the new one when the secondary market gets bigger

18x20 tour is my all time racquet. had been wanting and am all black dunlop racquet with gold/yellow strings ever since i saw mcenroe use one when i got into tennis around 2018. Picked up one just to see how i liked it then almost immediately bought 7 more lol. i’ll use this racquet until they’re all broke or i die lol
