I don't think they should be in any hurry to re-invent or re-paint the blade. It's doing very well at recreational and indoor clubs. And so far this Australian Summer there is usually at least one person with the pj being televised.

I have doubts Wilson will just end the Blade lineup. It is a very popular racquet so why would you just get rid of it. I am looking forward to a 2019 Blade.

I can see the Burn line dissappear, you don't see much people using them but the Blade? Besides the Pro Staff I think it's the most popular racquet Wilson sells, I don't think they are going to stop one of their best selling lines.

Blade was no longer cool. I mean no one likes Wesley Snipes anyway. It’s time to Rock the Casbah with THE CLASH! (aka the new Blade)

I try to get more details from new Blade series from Wilson manager. He promised to send it these days.
After that I post all info like photo or technical paramters if I got them. I like/play Blade 98 18/20 very much - hope
will be continued...

I got exact infos - most of technical paramters will be same - but frame have got FreeFex technolog whin in Clash series.
Green will be at the top of racket gray will be where was green... i think not better... Lets see the painting quality- hope it will be better... not like a chinese factory as before.
Hmmm hopefully the FreeFlex doesn't mess with the feel too much. I haven't personally played with the Clash so I can't say if I like it or not, but I can't help but think that it might create some sort of an artificial flexy but stable feeling. Not the og raw classic feel with natural uniform flex that Blades have been known and loved for (minus the controversial feel from CV version).

Sort of wish...That Wilson would (in addition to the 98) offer a Blade in a 100 inch head size..
Do check out the Vcore Pro 100. The closest thing you'll get to a thin, Blade-esque 100. Need to add 3-4g total at 3 and 9 o'clock though.

Edit: Also it is 2x the quality of anything produced by Wilson

I haven't got anything or seen anything, which is weird. I got a text a few weeks ago from my buddy that own the shop I demo and review for and he asked I would demo the new Blades. I said yes, of course, but haven't heard anything or seen materials. But I also haven't been to the shop and talk with him and the Wilson rep yet. I think I will ping him today and see if I can get anything on it.

I am still swinging the 2015 Blade 18x20 and haven't found enough change yet to update. I heard from one person the new Blade won't be using CV or any of the new technology from the Clash (though I honestly don't even know what, if any new teh the Clash has and I chose not to demo it).

Also heard the most closed string patterns moving forward for all Wilson will be 16x19??? Would like ot know if that is true too.

Hoping to swing it soon in any case.
