Any other Fed fans feeling a bit relieved?

I feel a bit relieved to be honest. Nobody now realistically needs to talk about Federer in terms of Slam count. He isn’t coming back meaningfully, I’m happy to step back and watch Djokovic/Nadal and their fans duke it out! It’s not been fun watching Fed be a sitting duck for the last couple of years, I’m feeling good that it’s moving on without him to be honest!

Anyone else?

Every congratulations to Rafa by the way, shocked that he’s still fit enough to win 5 hour finals and did not see him going beyond Fed. Djokovic has been fairly inevitable since Wimbledon 19 but I thought Nadal was slowing up. Not fast enough it seems and there’s a bit more on the FO22 now - if Rafa can open a 2 slam gap he might just be able to hold off Novak for at least a tie in the slam count.
I think Fed probably came to terms with this, and anyone who thinks his stature has diminished by not having the slam record now is a moron. Nobody played (nor probably will ever play) the game on such a consistent basis with the brilliance of Federer.

I personally think his dogged stubbornness has costed him many slams, actually. With a different approach he would probably have achieved 25 or 26 slams.

Still, I don't give a crap. I am pretty sure Djokovic will end up with the most slams, and that won't make him greater in my view either. I am primarily a Nadal (first) and Fed (second) fan, but objectively I put Fed first and Nadal second now, with Djokovic third. Djokovic is a very boring player and a self-entitled jerk.

I think federer accepted he's not the goat but he is something no body else will ever be: the wealthiest tennis player ever. I think that's a mighty big win for him.

He's the most elegant, esthetic, inspirational tennis player of all time. That's what really counts and that's why at least for me he'll always be the GOAT.
