Any shoes similar to Barricade 15 or 16?

Hi I've yet not found any shoes that fit and feel like the barricades 2015 or 2016. I just loved them. The upper held great and they were stabile and fit my feet perfect.

Just wondering if anyone found something similar or better?

Thanks

I'm guessing you don't like the SCB? Give the Babolat SFX3 a try. They're on sale now.

All models after the 2015 2016 sucked. I made a hole in the toe after a few months and upper was not as stiff and good as the old. The older models had toe jam issues. The SCB is to big in toe area and upper to soft.
Then you won't like the SFX. It has a soft upper. I don't think any shoes are really made with stuff uppers nowadays since it's shifted towards stiffer miss and structural design with soft uppers.

You didn’t like the 2017/2018? I liked them more, felt a bit more comfortable in the upper, especially the 2018. Granted I don’t push my shoes to the limit, so I can’t say much about that.

edit: I also have never been a fan of Adidas cushioning, be it barricade or Ubersonic. The closest I liked was the 2017/2018 boost, but the 2019 is worse in toe cushioning and the ubersonics have the “responsive” hard foam.

I loved the Barricade 2017 Boost. I had a pair of black/green ones. Took a couple of sessions to break in. It was very comfy once broken.
haven’t tried the 2016 Boost (Red/white) and 2018 boost (Pink/black) yet, they are still in the box.
I moved onto Gel Res 6 after the 2017 Boost then to the Vapours. The Vapours are much lighter and comfy with new insole :giggle:

I find that Asics Gel Resolutions are quite similar as I play with both.
How many generations of the Res have you played? Which do you prefer? I tried the 7 once and then the 8 and I love the 8 now.

I liked 15 and 16 too. The fit of 17 worked for me, but the upper was warm and the “knitted” upper not very durable.

I’m now in the Ubersonic 3 and they surprised me. Really like those, especially the roomy toebox

I agree. The '15 and '16 were my favourite Barricades and think that while the SCB does have a big toe area, it prevents me from toe jamming unlike the '18 Barricades which were by far the worst in that area.

15-17’s were all great in my book. I’m not sure why Vendors often go backwards introducing a ‘better’ shoe. The newer ones just do t fit my feet, period.

The solecourt sucks in terms of forefoot cushioning, they absolutely suck. No foam, only an insole is pretty bad. And the heel lockdown is pretty meh, along with the toe box stretching.

Still haven't found anything as good as the 2016 barricades. The next time I find a shoe I love I will buy with enough to last a lifetime. Its super annoying to try to find a new perfect shoe once you have gotten used to one. I don't understand how some pros can constantly keep switching shoes.

I have moved to the Asics Gel Resolution 8 from Barricades. The last couple of Barricade models (2017/2018) gave me knee pain after I played with the Barricade 7s (aka Novaks) without any issues for many years.

I tried the gel res 7 and 8. The 7s rubbed on top of my pinky toe and also felt to hot and not as wide and stable base as the barricades. The 8s gave me terrible foot pain. It was only the 2015 and 2016 model i liked.
