Any word on Tommy Robredo?

He hasn't played since Dubai. He's also 34 and, more importantly, has been around a looooong time, plays a very physically draining style of game, and has suffered from frequent injuries in recent years.

Is he done or will he return to the tour?

I didn't know it had been that long since he last played. Oh well, if that was his final tournament I can think of worse players for him to lose his last match to. ;)

Didn't he have surgery on his hip?

I've got a name who might retire at the end of this season though, Andreas Seppi, I think he's done.

Nice to see him back playing in Buenos Aires. He sure hasn't lost any speed around the court and had a good win over Fabio.

He'll be 40 when he retires next year, good run, post elbow surgery he battled it out in the challengers but he still played because he loves tennis.

Club Tennis d'Aro, Spain, recognized Tommy Robredo for his great professional career. Reportedly, he is going to retire next year, after the 2022 Barcelona Open.

Watching this guy out there at his age playing challengers for how many years now has been incredible. Not getting wild cards, constantly losing in quallies, and just carrying on. Legit love for the game. Will be sad to see him go. QF's at 3 of the 4 majors, a 1000 title to his name, and those epic Murray matches at the end of 2014. What a legend.

He's probablt the best player never to reach a slam SF with 7 QFs to his name.

He only "won" that match because Fed preferred to lose to him instead of Rafa at the USO
Actually, Roger only just lost to Djokovicin the USO SF in 2010. He wasn't shying away from Rafa then. Fedr believes in himself too much.

Fed don't prefer to loose to anybody, he went to extra lenght to meet Novak at AO 20 semi when he was injured
That was maybe accidental...or maybe Fed didn't want to be obvious.
But his loss To Robredo was very suspiciuos.

I still can't believe Fed bailed out on Rafa USO 13 QF...
I still can’t believe how hate blinds people to ignore facts that disprove garbage opinions like yours: fedr had just played The Nadal two weeks prior in Cinci and took a set. He wasn’t ducking. It was 2013, the summer when fedr first experimented with the bigger frame and determined he couldn’t switch effectively without an off-season to tweak everything. He had gone back to the 90 for Cinci/USO and went 5-2 so the Robredo upset wasn’t a duck as you imply.

Talk about "fading serenely into the sunset." This man was top 5 at one point, and came back into the spotlight one last time in 2013 after nearly retiring. It's a little sad to see him completely forgotten while still playing, but I hope he gets the respect and recognition he deserves when he retires.

This. I can't believe so many people think Federer would tank a USO match, especially against a poor man's version of himself that he's beaten a dozen times before.

OMG, how could any tribute to Tommy Robredo be complete without including him coming back from two sets down THREE TIMES IN A ROW at RG2013. ICONIC!

Thank you for the reminder :D

I remember when he reached the QF of the 2013 FO by performing 3 consecutive 0-2 comebacks.

What a fighter he was.

No way. He'll show it to his grand kids, and they'll all be "Who the hell is that guy, Grandpa?"
One of my little nephews got some Jordan brand sneakers for his birthday and I swear to you he had no idea Michael Jordan was a basketball player. He thought he was a fashion designer. I almost passed out.
