What, not a big David Pate fan?
I liked watching Mandlikova with the Ultra 2, but my personal mid-80’s crush was on another Ultra 2 mid user, Claudia Kohde-Kilsch.

It sure doesn't play like it's a full inch longer, I'll measure and report back.Back then, 97-98, the pics show a 660cm2/102" head, 28" long. When Head racquets were flexy
You're right, it's a full inch longer than standard. I never notice it when playing though.Back then, 97-98, the pics show a 660cm2/102" head, 28" long. When Head racquets were flexy

I'm unloading a bunch of frames, classic and newer (including this Head) - hit me up for info.
Just looked that racket up and it's apparently still available. It weighs 400g!? How does it hit? What year did Toalson Power Swing 400 first manufactured? That's what I am using now.
Like a twig compared to a real heavyweight, the Power Swing 500!Just looked that racket up and it's apparently still available. It weighs 400g!? How does it hit?
It has tons of power, so much plow through, very stable, and very comfortable with synthetic gut string. Half volleys from the baseline frequently goes deep to opponent's baseline. Very easy power on the serves. My groundstrokes are a bit like John McEnroe's and Kimiko Date, but my serve is different.... I like to hit more flat serves.Just looked that racket up and it's apparently still available. It weighs 400g!? How does it hit?

Volleys are so stable with it... So much power and very predictable and controllable.
It has great touch too... With a lot of feel. I like the classic box beam. I have no troubles at all hitting dropshots and topspin lobs... When I do topspin lob my forehand grip changes to semi western.. when I flatten my forehand I use eastern grip, but when I want defensive topspin forehand I use semi western grip.
My shots are consistently going deep with this racquet. My serve and my volleys improve a lot with it.... I think it's due to the easy power it gives.
I replaced the original grip with Fairway leather grip because I like leather grip.
That XRC was like an Austral....TINY !!! I never did warm up to that one, even though the rep REALLY wanted me to switch to it.Trying the Head Xrc and the Dunlop max 200g in parallell atm. Strung with Vs gut 16 gauge at 45 lbs... very armfriendly set up.
Will report later.
Those days are WAY behind me now!!!!!Kinda like the medium weight racquets of the late 80s. 14+ oz MAX200G and others
Doubles partner let me use a Weed last year. Easy depth, wind at your back. Typhoon that is.Those days are WAY behind me now!!!!!![]()
102" Head? Best sweetspot ever!No my primary racquet, but I just picked up an old sparkly red, non cap, Prestige Tour MP from the mid 90's. I used this for a couple months in college (but they were too fragile for my temper), and I forgot just how smooth that racquet plays. It's been a fun hit on court with my lessons the last couple of days...
I don't think its the 102... It lines up almost perfectly with my Extreme Tour which is a 98. But I know that Head was a little wonky with how they measured headsizes back in the day!102" Head? Best sweetspot ever!
Never saw a Prestige Tour or Classic with a 630 cm2 head. That would be MoneyI don't think its the 102... It lines up almost perfectly with my Extreme Tour which is a 98. But I know that Head was a little wonky with how they measured headsizes back in the day!
If you're talking about the burgundy color Prestige Tour MP, it's 102si. At least it's what they say.. or 690 cm2.I don't think its the 102... It lines up almost perfectly with my Extreme Tour which is a 98. But I know that Head was a little wonky with how they measured headsizes back in the day!
Head changed how they measured the size.102 sq. in. was the outer edge of the hoop. 99 sq in. was on the inside of the hoop. to bring Head inline with all the other manufacturers. It's still my favorite frame.I don't think its the 102... It lines up almost perfectly with my Extreme Tour which is a 98. That would be the Pro Tour 630/280 and Radical Trisys 260 MPNever saw a Prestige Tour or Classic with a 630 cm2 head. That would be Money

This makes more sense to meHead changed the size from 102 to 99 sq in. It's still my favorite frame.
I held a real and signed Capriati's TT in my hands. Nice.Prince TC55A-93 Pro Stock version with lead plugs in the handle.
Same racquet came in various paint jobs: Precision Retro, Triple Threat Rebel 95, Diablo Tour. Capriati and Malisse used the same frames with various paint jobs. Mine are all black now.
That’s a very nice Comp Pro
Head Graphite Comp. Stable and Smooth.
my sister gave me two of them.Cannot pry a PT 690 from a friend's hands.......................................................yet
Yes I love hitting PT 630/280 or PC600. PT20 is also great if you cant find a 90s stickThat would be the Pro Tour 630/280 and Radical Trisys 260 MP
Black Max pre-dated the Injection Molded Dunlops. May be wrongRecently I found 2 old rackets, one in my basement, the other one in my brother's house
I am stringing a Babolat Soft Drive, because I remembered it was the one Carlos Moya used, even if with very weird specs, so, I know at least it was good a enough for a brief number 1 player.
The other one is a Dunlop Black Max that should have belonged to my father. Should I string it? I think no top 100 tennis player ever used it, it's not like the Dunlop of McEnroe and Steffi
More like they overlapped; although there may have been some Euro-only IM frames that pre-date the Black Max...not sure.Black Max pre-dated the Injection Molded Dunlops. May be wrong
As expensive as the MAX 200G was, Dunlop needed an alternative.More like they overlapped; although there may have been some Euro-only IM frames that pre-date the Black Max...not sure.
Have you hit with the Max 200G?As expensive as the MAX 200G was, Dunlop needed an alternative.
