Anyone 2 handed players hit over a 1 handed BH on the run?

My 2 handed backhand has improved a lot over the past few years except I'm still having trouble hitting on the run. When I try to go over my 2 handed I tend to hit it short or pull it too hard and miss it wide. With my 1 handed defensive slice against most players I'm ok, but against better players like teaching pros or ex college players I just get hammered and feel like I'm losing every point. On my forehand on the run I can hit over it with a low % shot that sometimes is a winner.

That got me thinking that I could do a 1 handed backhand on the run like I do with my forehand. I don't normally do a 1 handed backhand, but I can hit it pretty well with tennis and other racket sports.

Do you or anyone you know hit over a 1 handed backhand on the run that normally hits with 2 hands?

I was in the same predicament against my former coach who had a NASTY, heavy 5.0-5.5 level Nadalesque, lefty FH that pulled me wide.
He was a full 1.0 level above me. I could rarely reach the ball with 2hbh and my 1hbh slice was weak enough for him to pounce on.
When a better person has you in that position, probability is very high that he will win the point anyway.

What helped me most was that I developed a lefty FH that at least gave me a chance. Once in a while, I can hit winners against lesser players.
Another option is hitting a good, defensive 1hbh lob.

Tsonga is pretty good at it.

Is my opponent coming to the net or staying on the BL?

If he's on the BL, I will lob/slice it back. The only time I'll pull out the on-the-run 1HBH shot is if they are closing and even then, I'd likely be better off lobbing.

In both situations I just feel like my defensive 1 handed slice is merely prolonging the inevitable and I'm not winning any of those points. Whereas on my forehand if I go for a winner I at least make a decent % of them.

I've not tried lobbing with 1 hand. That's something else I'm going to start trying. Every time I just go to the slice.

You'd have to take stats. I'm pretty sure you don't lose 100% of those points. if you can put up a decent lob, even higher-level players miss lobs occasionally.

Also, your OP talked specifically about your BH so what you do with your FH isn't the topic.

Slice lob from the BH side is pretty conventional defensive shot. Not that easy to put away if hit deep and gives you ton of time to recover. Higher level players may step in and drive-volley it, but hence they are higher level...
