Not sure what is your point. IMO winning close matches make it even more disappointing if you don't win the title.

Surprised you didn't mention RG 2011 by the way. That's an example where the semifinal win was totally worth it, he stopped Djokovic's streak.

Overall Federer was a clutch player. Just that he played so many matches he was bound to lose some close matches too. So you remember the close losses but don't remember that he usually won the close matches :happydevil:
