Anyone hit with the Yonex RQiS 1 Tour XL 95?

Hi there,

Has anyone hit with the Yonex RQiS 1 Tour XL 95?

I currently play with the RQiS 1 Tour (the black and red one) and am looking for something with just a little more pop and a little lighter. Not too much power, but there when needed.

Was wondering what you guys thought of the XL version the lite and the non-lite. It's tough when there are two choices of things. How did it play for you and how did it compare to the RQiS 1 Tour (black/red)

Thanks

^^I thought the RQis was pretty low in power too but I added some lead at the 3 and 9 o'clock position and use gut main/poly cross and the power significantly increase with very good control

I did the same, I added about 10-12 grams at 3 and 9 oclock and changed the grip to wilson leather. However it was too heavy!! the swingweight was too much...even more than my kps88

What kind of strings are you using? I'm using the RQiS 1 Tour again myself as I missed that flexier feeling it has. I think you can get away with more powerful strings in this stick since the frame is lower powered.

Are you guys talking about the non-XL version? ie the black and red one?

Have you tried the XL Version (ie the blue and yellow one) how does it compare?

Thanks

I forgot to mention I increased the width of the buttcap by using athletic tap like a bat. This would balance it out the SW

I was talking about the original RQiS 1. I was suggesting that you try more powerful strings in it if you want to increase the power. I've never tried the XL version, but I probably wouldn't like it as much since it's stiffer. Yonex has very few flexible sticks in production anymore.

That is one part of my racquet that I've never experimented with and that is the strings. Currently i just use Prince Synthetic Gut Duraflex 17 gauge. What kind of strings could provide more power? I guess I've just really liked the durabiliy of the prince synthetic gut.

Natural gut at a low tension would probably offer the most power. Soft multis are good for that as well, but they lose tension faster. Natural gut is more expensive, but if you're not a string breaker it feels good for a long time till it breaks. I like Klip Legend 17g.

ive only used the rqis tour for a few minutes a month or two ago, but it didnt have any power. i tried the rqis tour xl 95 last week and fell in love with it then bought it. it gives great spin and control. its stiffer than the rqis tour, but ive used a k95 all last year so this feels like a pillow compared to it.
