I know they are all going down down and down but who would you say from 1-10 are the best american tennis players of the 2010's (Not trying to be sexist but men only because we know how good the women are!)

In terms of day in and out consistency it's got to easily be Isner. He has the most significant title too. I think I'd take Querrey in terms of peak level though, and he made more slam quarters than any of the others I'm pretty sure. Just woefully inconsistent.

Mardy Fish is ancient history now, but he was also pretty hot stuff for a while there, though I think his top years straddle the 00s and 10s.

Thanks guys this really shows how americans are going down drastically. The best got to be Querrey because he beat Novak to get to the Wimbledon Semi's which is HUGE because novak and rog are gods on any surface

Wow it's been an awful decade for American tennis. Tbh American tennis has been on a stark decline since Sampras/Agassi retired

...and it did not help that US tennis became obsessed with the one-dimensional baseline game championed by Bollettieri and Patrick McEnroe, while the latter could not stop acting as PR rep for Roddick's flat-footed, net-comedic "skills".

It has to be either Roddick (Miami 2010), Sock (Paris 2017), or Isner (Miami 2018), because they're the only ones with M1000 titles. I'd go with Isner due to more finals in that category, second best slam results (after Querrey) and almost reaching a slam final.

Isner is my pick as well. His consistency this decade has actually been quite impressive as he's finished in the year-end top 20 every year from 2010 onward.

He also came the closest among any American to making a slam final when he played that marathon SF with Anderson, while winning 15 titles since 2010 (which I assume is the most among any Yankee), and he won a Masters title beating an in-form Zverev. To go along with that, he has 4 RU's in Masters tourneys (losing only to Nadal, Federer or Murray), and 26 wins over top 10 players.

Big John has honestly had a pretty underrated career, it's just not many ppl like watching big servers and the fact that he's American makes the standards a lot higher. I feel like most ppl here in Canada would've appreciated John's career a lot more than US fans have.

Tennis is a very creative sport, the usta doesnt take individual thinkers anymore, you have to fit into a certain box. Why we see most success coming from outside of their top training centers.

They are still making everyone the same and hoping for the biggest, strongest body to execute their philosophy. Academy thinking.
