I think at this point they are more lifestyle/knocking around shoes and not performance shoes.

Yes definitely more street looking rather than a durable court shoe. But I got great memories of those as the shoes I couldn't afford back then.

Guess not many gonna get a pair for a review.... Good, save me money for those Diadoras (keep calm....resist....resist...) haha

now that the Air Tech Challenge (not the Huarache ones tho) are available on TW. Anyone here has been playing with them?

Or really these are more for the malls now

I looked then searched and could not find them. Do you have a link?

The Air Tech Challenge was a super comfortable and supportive serious tennis shoe but not up to the cushioning standards of the best current shoes IMO. Ankle support is superb as is padding at the ankle. Pretty durable for toe draggers, too. The reissues were as much about substance as about style.

I recently sold my last NIB purple/orange/black on white "original re-issues". People in Europe are still nuts about this shoe and pay what I think are ridiculous prices -- more shoe collectors than tennis players I think.

If there is a *new* reissue, I cannot speak to their quality.

If you go on Niketalk, there is a whole thread about the Agassi retro releases, current and future ones :)

Thanks, I will check it out. Apparently not available at TW (at least not yet), so the earlier post stating this threw me off.

I'm going to play in them. I'll let you know

Picked up a air tech challenge for $90 and huaraches for $70.

I used to love playing in them so I'm going to give it a try

hey Ark, any thoughts on the Air Techs?

These were shoes I couldn't afford when I was younger so I'm just very excited to know how they fair and should I snag a pair or 2 now

I've played in the classic Air Tech's (right corner of photo). They're not so great on the feet. I did buy a pair of II's recently and might play in them occasionally. Nothing compares to modern day Vapor's.

I finally played in the huaraches. They are pretty comfortable and I had no complaints. They looked great and were fun to play in because I use to play in them back in the day. That being said they don't compare to the new vapors or ballistics. You wouldn't want to play in the huaraches all the time but they are a good change of pace in your rotation. The toe cushioning is lacking a little bit.
It's like a third car not an everyday car. Hope that helps.

I'll try the air techs next week and post.

My boy picked these up. Had to order from Europe. Really sweet.

With regard to performance, I picked up a couple pair from the 2006 re-release (before sneakerheads were in full force like they are today). They're definitely quality and feel great, but I wouldn't wear them on the court. More for street wear.

Aren't most of the Air Tech Challenge reissues using the same last as the Nike Air Yeezy? Can you imagine anything athletic Kanye West would need to do in those shoes?

But those "Hot Lava" reissues...oh man what I'd do.

Finally, played in the air tech challenge and they were great. Just as good as any of the new sneakers. I'll be wearing them again.
