Anyone switch from Wilson PS 97S to Yonex DR 98?

Anyone switch from a Wilson PS 97S to the DR 98?

Love the PS 97S when I'm in position and can get footwork and unit turn timed properly. The PS 97S' Even Balance and swing weight makes it hard to get the racquet around to hit the ball in front when my technique isn't perfect -- which is often. Also playing a lot of dubs so the PS 97S' even balance and head size (97 inches) makes volleys a little harder.

Specs on the Yonex DR 98 look really like what I'm looking for. Before I demo has anyone made the switch from PS 97S?

Why not pop down to the PS97? Same family of rackets but with that touch of maneuverability you are looking for.

The DR is changing up virtually every aspect from your current racket.

That being said the ai/dr98 is a great all around stick as is the blade/PS/Radical/Tour100...etc.

I spent a good bit of time with the 97s and tried the DR98. I prefer the 97s as I found the volley aspect of the 97s to really work for me. The weight and swing weight of the DR98 was a primary reason as the 97s really absorbs that pace given the balance and swing weight of the racquet. The DR98 is definitely easy to use and liked it off the ground but i couldn't get the stick from the volleys. I am sure lead will do the trick but I just preferred the 97s overall.

I like the DR98 a whole lot better, but I do agree that the PS97s is a lot more stable, but the serves are much better on the Yonex racket.

I'd second the suggestions above. I have the 97S, PS97, DR98 and 100P in my bag as the best group of a lot of racquets I own in this spec range. These would be my suggestion for a demo list and I'm sure you'll find a winner as they each offer a couple of things that they excel at.

Put the brown RF97 leather grip on the Yonex DR98 and you can have the best of both worlds! Trust me. I did just that and I love it.

How would you describe the serve advantage of the DR98 over the 97s?

(I have the 97s but have not hit with the DR98.)

Found it easier to swing with the DR98 than the 97S in stock weight. Take into consideration head-light vs even balance.
Now, I bought the DR98 simply because it was head-light. I only used the 97S for a week or two.

Makes sense.

I beefed up my 97s to 362g and it's now headlight as well :-)
