Anyone that has customized a Babolat Pure Storm GT?

I have ordered two regular 2009 Pure Storm GT in size 3. My normal preferences are about 330 g unstrung and 7-9 pts headlight and grip 4.

I will now install a gripenlarger (+15 grams) Add about 5-10 grams at 3 and 9 depending on original weight and then about 10 grams of silicone in the handle.

Has anyone tried this setup, or can recommend some other good set-up?

I know I just could bye a regular PST GT, but strangely i like the feeling when i add a grip enlarger and then silicone is a must! To do that to a PST GT would make it way to heavy.

So, please share your thoughts on customizing a Pure Storm GT :)

I tried to do the same to my regular storms minus the grip sleeve. My objective was to reach a similar feel to the tour, seeing as I switched from the lighter version to the tour. I could achieve near the same specs, but never the same feel as the PST. The Pure Storm is a good base for customization, though, and I really liked it with a leather grip, some silicone, and a bit of lead at 10 and 2 or 12. I ended up around 335g strung and a 7 pt HL balance, it played really quite nicely, but not as plush or solid as the storm tour, and that was the case when I tried to make the specs the same as the tour too. Basically, if you're looking for the feel of a PST by modding a standard PS, best of luck to you, it's quite difficult, and maybe impossible due to the stock lay-up of the frame. If you want something that responds well to many different customizations, go right ahead because the PS GT is great for that.

The two racquets have a completely different feel. The Pure Storm seems to have somewhat of a Pure Drive feel to it while the Pure Storm Tour is much more muted and has a BLX type of feel to it. One might be tempted to think the hoop is the same in both racquets but I really doubt it.

I think it shouldn't be that hard to get the specs to line up though. And if you don't like muted feeling frames then you are heading in the right direction with the regular Pure Storm.

Thanks for the input guys!
I used to play with the PST, the older, non GT model, and liked that raw feel. I have tried the PST GT and didnt really like the feel of it, but when i just tested a stock PS GT i liked the feel better. Felt a tad more crisp or how shall i put it.

I will try the customization-run with those frames and if i dont like it, i will straight away order as many old PST´s i can get hold of from TW
