I watch them reasonably close as we have a ticket package and try to find best way to sell - normally the best deals are waiting until right before a match and picking up seats from people who were holding out and get desperate to get *something*. If it's a highly desired match there are no strategies.
Last year for the two semifinals, one was with Alcaraz/Djokavic and the other with Sinner/Felix. I assumed (along with everybody else) that the Alcaraz match would be at night, and the prices were probably 2-3x over the day session. I wanted to see Sinner so I bought the day session, however after the actual schedule was announced the prices all flipped, and the evening Sinner game came WAY down in price.
What I can't stand are all the Ticketmaster fees, if I just want to sell a ticket at my breakeven price buying direct from the tournament, the buyer has to pay about 30% more to eat up all the slippage. Highway robbery - not to mention their site is AWFUL for managing tickets. You have to click on each session, set a price (all excruciatingly slow), and no way to just set all the prices at once. We try to get most of the tickets transferred to friends/family to cut them out completely but the leftovers get sold.

Alcaraz/Paul tomorrow is a good example - was already set that they were playing and the afternoon courtside seats could be had for as low as $1150 (people assumed evening match?), but once it was announced they were on the afternoon schedule seats evaporated, cheapest I see are $2500-3000. So get good at picking day/night and you could make a lot of money.
For posterity - the semifinals today (2026) had the floor fall out on pricing. Zverev/Khachanov tickets were going for $800 or less courtside, TONS of "blue" seats on Ticketmaster that are direct from the US Open seats that are unsold. Generally semifinal courtside go for $3k and up so this is incredible.
What's even more astounding is the Tiafoe/Shelton match - as of a few hours before, 4 blue seats available for around $1600. Despite a night match USA vs USA, relatively tepid demand.

Exactly - they hold back tickets for either celebrities or sponsors. Typically (but not always) they're the best deal in a particular area. Random when they will appear, I checked earlier and some new blue spots appeared for tonight's session in row M for $2153 - fees are a lot lower, "just" $50 for that one as it's not a resell vs. what would probably be $300 in fees.
