MATCH OF THE TOURNAMENT!!!!
This one is going to be electric!! Too close to call for me.
Gilles in four sets, hope everyone is ready...
I would love a Jaziri vs Simon R3, that would be the next dream match.
Pablo to get the job done in four .
Waiting for the paint, wall, grass etc. references
This will be an oil painting of a match. When either has his back to the wall, they will come out fighting. They say the grass is always greener on the other side of the hill, but I can't imagine a better 2nd round matchup than this one.
Simon will train Busta to stand in for The Gurufils in this excite form of entertainment for the world to enjoy:
First match on show court three today. Does anyone have a good way to watch the outer courts online? Even if I have to pay for it?
Simon in 4.
On clay I'd pick Busta but on HC Simon is the master and PCB the student.
I'm not going to watch this, it's too exciting i might have a heart attack.
It will go 20-18 in the fifth with 25 breaks of serve. Tennis wins.
The best thing to happen in life since Murrovic matches.
Will also be the last match on Court 3. Isner/Mahut may be eclipsed. Hell, Oz may be eclipsed before this ends.
Simon in straight sets - I think he's rediscovered a bit of his old "magic", PCB still in a bit of a rut.
Going for Simon here in 4 or 5
So, great at puny Pune; tired or tank vs Jared at Sydney (???); then, "magical" vs Copil 1R. I am confuse.
If i was a pro who ended my last season with a 6-3 6-0 loss to Chardy, i would have packed it in and found a new job.
Fair play to Simon for carrying on and starting the new season with a little run. Better on hardcourts than PCB, he's the favourite for this match.
He wasn't that magical against Copil, who was seriously poor. The big guy struggled all match with his movement, and was getting his feet "stuck" in the court too often. So off balance, it was hilarious, Simon just hitting down the middle of the court as well, still Copil struggled to get into position. Though he got trapped in Simon's web soon enough, which resulted in a racquet smash to my delight.
holy vegetable... it's happening!
His crowd support is underrated!
I actually really like Simon's brand of tennis. It's very unique.
I think he'll take this match, Busta has not been great recently and Simon is better on fast courts.
Simon in 4 long sets.
No way PCB is going to give any problems to Simon on HD. Simon in 3 (63 64 63)
Seems like they're already late on the schedule
He went to SFs at IW and USO on HCs and won his first title on HCs so classifying PCB as a clay specialist is not very accurate anymore. He is struggling since USO though so i favor Simon in this matchup.
Simon in 4.
Simon blows triple break point in Busta's first service game. 1-1.
Simon looks so relaxed, casual almost. And yet playing very well.
Edit: too casual maybe, Carreno Busta breaks, up 3-2
Busta the first to bust through for a 3-2 lead.
Double break now for Busta.
Busta closes the set in 30+ minutes, 6- 2. Only Seppi's breadstick of Nishioka ended more quickly in the four matches started simultaneously. Not Simon's style yet.
6 games in a row for PCB.
An immediate break for Busta. This match is running away from Simon as quickly as a pickpocket on The Champs d'Elysee.
Simon retires. 6-2, 3-0.
Double break to 3-0 as Pablo busts a major move on ending this fedr quickly.
What a shame for Simon who started out great earlier this year. Injury really does come at the worst of times.
Simon did not look as springy and mobile as he did in Pune which is where I suspect he got his injury from. PCB really picked on that fact today.
So that's why he did not look concerned in this match.
I have no idea lol I just turned it on and two minutes later he retires. Now trying to figure out what to watch until Shapo - Tsonga comes one.
Busty Carreno begins another bull run.
I think he gets Muller next, shouldn't be that easy for him
Jaziri is down a 5-7 set but it's 2-2 in the second with Muller...far from a done deal.
