The Murray match today was dreadful, even Nadal and Ferrer produced better tennis. Murray should win this because he has prepared himself for it but we will see

Murray has avoided playing a lot of potential battles in his draw.

No Del Potro, No Baghdatis, No Tsonga, No Soderling, No Nadal.

He's got an inform Ferrer, and I think he will be hoping that the Joker can take of Federer for him too.

Hope Murray has his running legs well oiled because he's going to have to do a whole heap if he wants to beat Ferrer... Ferrer wont be as meek as any of Murray's previous opponents.

In da openin segment tuhday Da Sports Pope will make his prediction in da spawt wheah they play fa pay. Da Pontiff has become a believah in Ferra. He's a gamah, but Murry will prove ta be too much fa da diminutive battlah.

Murry will get his dream run ta da final and win in 4 tuff sets. Da serve and da junk will be on the menu for the countahpuncha Ferra. Ferra will threaten ta win 2 sets but come up shawt and lose in 4. His Holiness has spoaken.

I don't understand the recent trend of new posters talking in the third person. I'd rather have funny trolls than clowns like sports pope.

I think Ferrer will manage to take this match though. He managed to diffuse Raonic's huge serve and should have no trouble returning Murray's, and who knows if Murray will even serve that well. Key is going to be how Ferrer manages his serve, I'll say Ferrer in 4.

Reading Sports Pope's posts, you almost feel like patting him on the head and going 'awww, how cute', since he is trying really hard to be funny, bless him.

Anyway, as for the match, Murray will win but Ferrer could sneak a set off him. So Murray in 4.

Murray in 4. But if Murray is tight and does bring his good stuff I wouldn't be shocked if Ferrer pulled the upset (I can only imagine what the children around here will say if it is a Fed - Ferrer final; the whining/moaning will be exquisite).

Was the OP banned because he/she didn't know how to set up a proper poll? Or some juvenile comment?

I keep reading about Ferrer smoking? Is this legit? How many a day? It would be epic if he'd take a lung dart (cancer stick, lungbuster, burner) break between sets.

I'll say Murray in four.

Ferrer is playing great. I know Rafa was injured, but even the first two games showed how dialed in Ferrer was. And, let's not forget he's shown great form in his other AO matches and in winning his first tournament of the year.

I really think Ferrer can make it interesting and has an outside chance, though Murray has a whole different bag of tricks to use. Most notably, Nadal and Raonic were usually giving Ferrer consistent pace, a nice consistent ball off which Ferrer could generate pace. Murray will mix up the speeds, the heights, the spins more, he'll drop shot more. It's harder to be as zoned in on groundstrokes when you're opponent is playing that way.

That said, Ferrer is "on" and he can frustrate Murray by getting so many balls back and by being more aggressive than Murray is used to from him.

Ferrer has beaten Murray (three times), though on clay, but has lost 6-2, 7-6 on outdoor hard (which shows he can be competitive) and 6-2 6-2 on indoor hard.

So, it doesn't look great for Ferrer, but given his form I think he'll be very competitive and have an outside chance at winning.

How nice it is to read a well reasoned post!

I'm saying Ferrer in 4. Murray wins the first set, but gets frustrated and squanders it away.
