AO 2019 Big 3 draws

Until people see a decent Novak actually be downed, unlike in 2017-early 2018, of course his draw will continue to be underestimated.

He could lose to Tsonga, Med, or Shapo. He’s inconsistent currently and isn’t playing good. His draw is tough and tricky

Really? Are we talking Istomin 17 levels here? Because he’d need to be that bad for me to think he could lose best of 5 set matches to these players.

But I confess, I don’t know how Djokovic is playing right now.

He could be outhit or have a bad playing day. His C or B game is arguably the best C or B game out there, but it comes at the cost of tiring himself out. He doesn’t play amazing at the start of slams either

Kafelnikov is a two time Major champion in singles, 4 time Major champion in doubles, the last man to win a Major tournament in singles and doubles in the same year, DC champion, and a former #1 player.

and olympic gold in Sydney 2000, do not forget it.

I haven't.

I just don't think that it is on par with his other achievements.

Tenistically speaking it is not so important until recently, but at a sporting level, it is something that will be recorded throughout the life of an elite athlete.
I think of Andy Murray and his retirement and I think one of his most rewarding memories in his career will be his 2 gold medals won in London 2012 and Rio 2016.

There is nothing though in Djokovic's draw. Old Tsonga (#155 in the wolrd), Shapovalov (7 losses in a row, hasn't won any title) and Medvedev (hasn't done anything) are no threat, unlike Federer, Cilic, Anderson or Tsitsipas.

Yes I'm far from convinced Federer will be playing Tsitsipas in RO16. Basilashvilli is very dangerous for anyone.

Basily needs a good coach and he can surely be a top 5 .. slam winner is still far but I think in current gen he can win few masters ..
