Medvedev wins.
Med through. 3rd Med-Alcaraz slam SF in a row incoming?
Beat him in their last slam semi.how can Med beat Alca-Miracle?
The Med 2HBH with the hands not together- very odd looking indeedThese guys have the weirdest looking strokes
One bite, everyone knows the rules.Gilles Cervara is a cross between Dave Portnoy and Steve Stamkos.
You never know lolAlcaraz should be prime for some revenge on Med in the SF now.
4 hours and 3 minutes that one. Carlos should get past Zverev in a much shorter time than that!
I’ll cry if he wins and then I’ll come back and report you for making me see that hideous photo of ZverevYou never know lol

Tennis is on bro, timezone and sleep don't matter.Missed the match due to timezone. Sounds like a quality match though. Congrats to Meddy bear for the win!
True but Hubi had the better FH and serve( except the fifth set when Danil's first serve % was amazing).Better player won, Hubi did really well honestly he showed some quality grit and definitely did his best. Med just more seasoned and tougher, simply a higher caliber player and in a slam 5th set it shows
The chicken wing FH even more so...The Med 2HBH with the hands not together- very odd looking indeed
Great, but got tired since the second set. Almost died in the fourth.I didn't see the Hurkacz vs Medvedev match. What was Medvedev’s level like?
Not great at all, Medvedev looks much weaker than on previous hard slams. But somehow he made it to the semis.Great, but got tired since the second set. Almost died in the fourth.
Pretty much the opposite of what Rublev does in QFsNow Medvedev has 9 slam QFs and won 8 them! Lost only once on clay.
To me it was more of the case of Hurkaz raising his game with some great touches, plus awesome weapons such as the I-I FH and serve. Not great at all, Medvedev looks much weaker than on previous hard slams. But somehow he made it to the semis.
But even the commentators, former pros, don't understand how Medvedev does it, don't blame poor Hurcazk, who now has his best result in GS in years.I will never be able to cheer for Hurkacz again the way he clowned the match away. Dude is up in every statistic yet somehow managed to lose this
In light of the tennis scoring system, straight stats don't always matter. It really matters WHEN certain things happen.I will never be able to cheer for Hurkacz again the way he clowned the match away. Dude is up in every statistic yet somehow managed to lose this
55 return points won to 36 service points lost. A 1.53 dominance ratio. (Though it's "only" 1.19 if you take the percentages of serve and return points.) Just watching the match, I didn't realize how lopsided those stats would be. Very clutch stuff from Med in the fifth to take this one. The 75% in-count for the decider kind of understates things – for most of it, he was 80%+ and it was only after securing the break that his serve cooled off a tad.Hurk won pretty much all of the stats. 2019 Fed vibes.
He moved back every so often, more frequently as the match wore on, but I don't remember him ever making a permanent shift to the deep return position (maybe in the fifth, I don't know, it was late and I was tired lol). There was definitely a lot of cat and mouse but to me the rallies got more interesting later in the match. In the fourth set Hubi started blasting the forehand and racing in to net. Med had to start hitting more aggressively so as not to give Hubi those opportunities and there weren't quite as many of the long grinding rallies. But whatever the exact playing dynamics were at a given time, it was fun watching both these guys really thinking and adjusting.I actually enjoyed this match. The first set and a half I saw a lot of cat and mouse.
Med hits only to Hubies FH which was off in the 1st set and Hubie slices to Med with no pace balls to another counter puncher;
Intriguing and helpful to win league matches.
Did Med move further back to return serve in the later sets?
Yes I was surprised with the tenacity of Hurkacz too. For a big fellow he moved pretty well and kept rallying like crazy vs Med. He seemed to be the better player overall but still lost! What a match! I just watch the highlights back. There was some insane cat and mouse rallies here. Meddy wore Hurkacz down in end but what a battle!
Both guys really brought a high level and the fans loved it. Congrats to both guys for a great fight
