AO 2024: QF Djokovic vs Fritz

Caught the highlights of Fritz. He looked great especially in the home stretch, now is that truly his level or Steph just giving up, I can’t say for sure. But some of those BHs were crisp and perfect. Djokovic needs to be at his best or could see himself in a grindathon. Needs to save energy for what looks like the inevitable showdown of the tournament in the semis.

Really? I mean he surely knew from the draw that Djoker stood in his way.. makes for good tv drama I guess

Well I don't think current Tsits with back problem would have made any difference, atleast Fritz has serve to take it into tiebrake like yec 2022

If Fritz gets to a tiebreak against Djokovic, the set is already over.

It is amazing that Djoker can dominate a Top 20 player Mannarinino at a Slam. It is unheard of.
And Djoker could have pulled off the triple bagel if he really wanted to. But that was not his top priority.

Fritz hits big and has some great shots. But does not have the consistency to hang with Djoker on rallies.

Fritz has his moments but lacks the consistency to hang with Djoker. Also moves awkwardly at times.
By QF standards, Sets 3 and 4 were just incredibly painful to watch. No doubt who was winning this match. No suspense.

Have not seen Sinner play this tournament. Hopefully Djoker handles Sinner easily and cruises into the Final.
Expect to see either Med or Alcaraz in the bottom half.

TF has had an amazing tournament and playing his better(est) tennis w an much improved game.

But felt like I was in a Time Machine watching Roddick vs Federer… An American playing their best tennis w a chance to win, just to be demoralize by them.
