Federer as ever will stop Roddick dead in his tracks. Andy Roddick will come out firing on all cylinders ... and go down in straight sets.

Federer in straight sets over Roddick.

its going to be an incredible match
honestly I wish both of them could make it to the final, I like them more than Nadal and Tsonga

it will break my heart though if Federer wins and then loses in the final
whoever wins this match ought to go the distance

Roddick in 5! But I certainly hope Fed is going to be a bit off. If he plays like against Del Potro, well.. but I think Roddick is more intelligent than DP and will try to get Fed off rythm by coming to net, hit looping shots etc.

Federer could not have an easier semifinal. He pretty much deserves it though considering the draw.
Fed in final is a done deal dear fellow FedFans.

Federer 40 sets Roddick 6 sets.

It's even worse than what sampras used to do mark philip., 22 vs. 5.

Its this going to be hard to decide. People were saying Djokovic would win in straights or 4 sets and look what happened. If I had to take a guess I would say Federer in 5 sets.

Roddick's sitter forehands, although more consistent now, just feed even further into the funhouse of terror.

Regardless of what happens here, Djokovic gets a bit farther from #2 and Federer could perhaps close the gap to #1.

Roddick has a shot and it would be good in some respects if he did win here but just have to go with Fed

There's no option for Fed with three bagels?

In all seriousness, Fed in straights no problem at all - Roddick did not look overly impressive against Novak.

i said murray was gonna crush verdasco. in the words of the south park kids, faced with a fetus-eating christopher reeves, i'm gonna stay out of this one.

As a Fed fan, i think this match will be tight as some might not think.I think Fed will have a battle in his hands if he plays like he did against Berdych.I will say Fed in 4 hard fought sets.

Fed has just won too many. I want Roddick to get his breakthrough, something that's been long overdue. More so, I want to give him credit for continually working on his game (better BH, better volleying) and his amazing fitness (wow what gets last night).

But if I had to bet my mortgage this month, it would be on Fed after he crushed Del Petro.

Im totally rooting for Roddick but do I think he can win this match? Doubtfull. Unless Fed gives him some errors and he serves well.

But regardless, this is a big tournament for Roddick. Will his ranking jump?

I'm wondering what Roddick's confidence is going to be like after beating Djokovic. It had to be a monkey off his back after everything that went down at the U.S. Open last season. In that same regard, Federer's probably feeling pretty good after blasting Del Potro off the court.

I just don't know if Roddick can sustain a lead in a best of five sets match. Federer lost to him last year, but that was best two out of three, and it's hard to have much faith in Roddick in a five-setter.

that would be smart decision, even bookies adjusted their odds after last night, Nadal was the favorite yesterday, now:

He goes up to 6 if Tsonga doesn't win the tourney and Simon loses to Nadal. He goes up to 5 if he makes final. He'll definately jump Del Potro, Simon if he loses today, Tsonga if he doesn't win the tourny. He'll jump Davydenko if he beats Roger.

Andy Roddick in 4, maybe 5 (if he well prepared "mentally")............ That's still the old Roger Federer nothing special with his match against del potro, del potro can't do anything against Roger that's why Roger look so good last night.. But against Andy, that would be a diffrent stories......

Well, if Fed plays like he did against Berdych, Roddick may pull it off. If he plays like he did against JMDP, it's over. It all depends, I guess. But nevertheless, I am really excited to see a Roddick-Federer matchup deep in a GS again.

im not even going to predict anything...so far i've been wrong..i predicted he'd own Berdych in straights and Del po in 4...and look what happened

your predictions are excellent my friend. Better than most others I have seen.
What's important is who wins at the end of the day, number of sets not that important.

If you want mine, Fed in str8

As much as I like Roddick, I just cant see him getting the best of Roger in a best of 5. If he can get Roger to a fifth set, he may have a chance based on fitness alone, but a very VERY small chance. I say Andy gets a set but goes down in 4.

you think andy is fitter than roger?

dont make me laugh.

Do you guys think Roddick has what it takes mentally to beat Federer in a GS event? I don't know, maybe AO 2007 will be in his dreams tonight.

Yeah, actually I do. And thats not really a stretch to say that, Andy isnt the most talented player, but the dude has come here in excellent physical condition. He beat Djokovic because he was more fit, not because he's a better player.

There is no way to predict with Federer these days. I'm sure nobody could tell he'd have such a hard time against Berdych and of course no one predicted he qould murder Del Potro. Hopfully Federer in 4.

Have you noticed Verdasco is now the only option left for a surprise finalist? Though he'll have to play the match of his life against Rafa, as being a left-hander won't have any atvantage this time around. Still, he faced some tough tests in Stepanek, Murray, and Tsonga, and passed them all.

He outplayed Joker the entire match aside of the 1st set tiebreak. He was better that day and Djokovic is a sore loser.

Unfortunately for Roddick, i think this surface suits Roger better. I think Roger will win, but i hope it isn't a boring blow out. I hope it goes 20-18 in the 5th set with roger winning but limping off cause he is so tired..

Roger's movement was fantastic against Delpo, and he also returned serve very well. If he can keep this up he'll win the title.

I wonder what was wrong with Federer in Berdych match. He did not sleep enough ? Or he had bad fish or something ?
Nothing was wrong with Fed that day - Berdych came out hitting huge - and they were going in - for two sets.

Please don't pick Fed! And who are you picking in the Super Bowl? :)

They're playing at night - fitness won't be an issue. Fed did 5 during the day already.

Roddick's had a pretty charmed route to the semis. I see a rude awakening today. I don't see how any non-biased person can think Roddick can hang with Fed when they get into rallies. And Roddick's approaches still land short quite a bit - Fed will do what others couldn't and make him pay. Fed in 3 (no bagels or sticks): 5, 4, and 3.
