Aoyama plays with Bridgestone racquets.

Watching now women doubles, noticed that Japanese Aoyama plays with Japanese as well brand Bridgestone. Surprised that well known tyre company produce racquets also. Anybody have experience with these racquets?

Never played with one but have seen them in sports stores in Japan and picked them up, swung them around a bit.

My memories are that they were/are very well made, high quality cosmetics and in the hand at least, felt very solid. I'd be happy to give one a try one day.

Probably they made all golf stuff because of great popularity in Japan.

Historically I think Bridgestone is, somewhat like Yamaha or Dunlop, more diversified than than one would expect. They made many innovative bicycles for quite some time before leaving that market.

I am currently playing with the X-Blade RS 300. I have played with Bridgestone rackets off and on for about seven or eight years. Bridgestone sells exclusively in their domestic market in Japan, so unless you are planning a trip there or know someone who is they can be difficult to get.

As far as rackets go, they are high quality, modern Chinese made rackets. I don't think there is anything particularly special or unique about them, but they are pretty rare outside of Japan (and they aren't especially popular in Japan either) and that is why I like playing with them.

Rackets are not that common, but golf clubs (and balls) are easy to get hold off, esp on the bay. Nice looking blades.
