Apart from Big 3 who has a shot at winning Us open this year?

I know many will laugh on this thread but Us open is most uncertain slam to predict in previous years although last 2 years familiar faces won it. I think guys like tsitsipas, thiem can do well on hardcourts and will less prone to upsets here than on grass. Also thiem played well here last year and tsitsipas reached Aus open semi.I think somewhere a break through will happen and it could start this us open or maybe next year but I think it will.

OK, give me your percentage breakdown for this USO.
Djokovic-90%
Federer-9% (but only if somebody else will take Djokovic out for him)

You can split the remaining percent as you wish between Nadal, Thiem, Wawrinka and others.

I wouldn't give Djokovic 90% at the AO, let alone anywhere else including NYC.
Come on, you talk about him being the heavyweight champion or something like this. He is almost unbeatable, no? Especially when the younger players are so bad.

Yes, I call him the heavyweight champion and Earth's Mightiest Warrior, but I never ever said he is invincible.

He is the favorite for the USO, I think you should be able to tell from my discussions with others than I put him clearly above the others here, but the numbers are no where near as high as the 90 percent you are saying.

I'm just thinking who can realistically beat him and I don't see any options. Forget about Federer and Nadal, this is not happening. Players who theoretically CAN trouble him are Wawrinka and some of the younger players if they play well-Thiem, Zverev, Kyrgios, Khachanov. But in a slam I wouldn't trust any of them to even reach him, leave alone beat him.

Yeah if Djokovic loses it will be to a dark horse. It will not be Federer or Nadal I dont think.

I think @helterskelter has got it right here and I would agree with the below. You also need to understand the accumulative effect of matches, you never know when you can run into a player who is playing on fire. You cannot win a slam in the first week, but you can certainly lose it if you are not efficient. Give him a Medvedev and a Thiem in succession and you can bet something will be taken out of him before a final, and that could help his opponent especially if they navigate through a better draw.

The bookmakers put Djokovic's chances for the US Open at somewhere in the range of 40%.

Thiem.
But things can change during this HC season. Zverev and Tsitsipas comebacks are not out of question.
