APD GT reduce grip size?

I own an APD GT and would like to reduce it's grip size. I've tried grinding the grip with sandpaper and what not, but I'm not really satisfied.

Would it be possible to remove the grip completely and replace it by an Head (or some other brand) grip? Has anyone ever done this?

Also I like the more rectangular Head grip more than the Babs.

Tried that on an APD Original and it worked.

Remove replacement grip and just use 1 or 2 over grips.
