Where would Clemson have been had they beat UVA?

16th with 43.13 points - that would have distanced them from 17th a good bit and probably would have locked them into the top 16.

The thing that will hurt them the most this week was most of their top wins dropped in the rankings over the past week.

Notre Dame should drop to 12th now after the NC State loss?
still cannot get that ND is ranked ahead of Duke for example...

This should be it - once you get below 25 there is a greater margin for error because not all the top 8 wins are against top 75 teams so you have to make an educated guess about where they would fall in the rankings and then determine points. Teams with an * beside their name are teams that fall into that category so their points may be off a bit.

wow big drop from Oregon. I thought they were safely in the tournament but looks like they are going to have to sweat it out again this year.

The Utah loss hurt as did the rankings using the top 8 wins instead of the 7 from a week ago. Oregon only has 3 wins over top 75 teams (Boise State, Drake, New Mexico) after that it's slim pickings.

Why the drop for a&m?? They keep winning and getting "better wins" but points drop???

It was a combination of a few teams that they beat going down in the rankings and 1 of their losses dropping a few spots and thus counting against them more.

8 best wins and change in points from prior week
Tennessee - no change
Illinois - down 2 points
Tulsa - down 1.1 points
Florida - no change
Vanderbilt - no change
Georgia - down 3 points
Tennessee - no change
Alabama (added this week)

5 losses - only change in points was Illinois which dropped a few spots in the rankings so that loss count as .3 points as opposed to .2 from the previous week.

If they sweep the Mississippi schools this weekend they should get a nice bump from the road win at Miss St which is good because next week a 9th best win is added in.
