Are ATP player heights self-reported?

There's no way Nishikori is 5'11" (180 cm), he looks like a kid in person.

Gasquet is listed at 6'1" (185 cm) and I highly doubt he's an inch taller than Wawrinka (6'0" / 183 cm).

How are they measuring players' heights? Are they keeping their shoes on or something?

Lol, I can believe it.
Isn't this like how Sharapova's recorded weight is dodgy AF?

59kg lol, my slim 14yo sister weighs more than that.

Edit: Just ran the BMI calculation on her recorded height (6' 2") and weight, and she has a BMI of 16 (seriously underweight).

If that's seriously underweight Radwanska is two-dimensional.

I don't see anything wrong with both Nishikori and Gasquet size
About Gasquet most people get confused (me included a few years ago before I found the explanation): he has a massive head (skull) combined with a small looking body
same goes for Janowicz

You would not think Janowicz looks nearly as tall as Isner
compare these two pics, Isner looks much taller

all this to say that Gasquet is 185 cm tall but the size of his head compared with his shoulder make a wrong impression on him

on the photo below, you see Gasquet's body looks small in comparison to someone like Federer

Nishikori is 5'10 but not shorter than that, Gasquet is about Nadal's height, which is slightly shorter than a true 6'1 like Federer. But ATP players' heights are largely correct.

Normally sportsperson have more muscle mass and they can appear slim as muscle occupies less volume than fat, but on the basis of this theory she should be weighting more than 59kg it should be around 65+. Venus is as lanky as Maria and 1 inch shorter maybe but weighs 16 kg more.

I think they just never update that data. She looked lighter in her younger years, doubt she grew taller, though.

Makes sense, height will stay the same, but weight can be added or lost. Train your muscles for years and it's easy to gain a few kg, especially since we are talking about professional athletes here.

I'd agree with this.
I've always quoted Fed 6'1", Nadal 6'1", Djoker 6'2" myself.

Well I'm 6'1 exactly and I was the same as Fed and pretty close to Novak...I didn't get as close to Murray but he looked 6'2...he's lanky structurally with long limbs so I could see how he gives a taller impression, but really no more than a guy like Tsonga. Wasn't as close to Rafa, but close enough to see that I'm a titch above him.

There was a time when a female player 6ft or over was nearly always listed as 5ft11 and a half.
I heard Jo Durie talking about it recently- she herself being taller than actually 'officially listed' whilst playing.

Agreed.

I don't think Ferrer is 5'9" either, perhaps 5'7".

Yeah Ferrer is definitely shorter than 5'9...another one is Tipsarevic doesn't look 5'11...Hewitt also did not look the 5'11 he was listed at

You are right in that Nishikori is no way 180 cm (5'11"), he is actually 178 cm (5'10").

Murray - 6'2 (a weak 6'2, truly a hair under)
Djokovic - 6'1.5
Federer 6'1
Nadal 6'0.5

If you disagree, you're WRONG

I wonder more about their weight than height. There are some really low numbers. Federer and Nadal are both listed 6'1 and 187 lbs. Wawrinka, just an inch shorter at 6'0 is 179 lbs. Hard to believe.

Women seem to prefer to state a weight like 49 or 59, so I would presume they are inaccurate.

Sharapova would probably be 60 something. Only 69 would get her to the normal range of a 19 BMI score.

I've stood shoulder to shoulder with Gasquet to take a pic. I'm like 6ft exactly and he was a little taller than me. 6" 1 maybe rounding up slightly, but he is close. Wawrinka actually looks shorter than 6ft in person. I'm sure he is 6ft, but he definetly looks small in person.

Have stood next to all of Ferrer, Tipsy, Nish and Hewitt (The short guys ;)) I'm 5'9. Ferrer seemed my height as did Tipsy. Nishi and Hewitt were clearly taller, at least 5'10.

Interesting, I'll take your word for it. Maybe Ferrer looks shorter because he's kinda bulky. Wawrinka looks more 5'11 than 6'0 for the same reason but I do think he's a solid 6 footer.

Ferrer is pretty damn stocky as was Tipsarevic. This was when I was lifting a lot so at 190lbs I weighed more than either guy, but it was all in the chest, back and arms. Otherwise I felt small next to them. Tree trunk legs, super broad, and pop eye forearms.

Were you low bodyfat, 190 at 5'9 is pretty damn buff :)

Yea decent 12-13%. This was when I got burned out of tennis and decided to become a gym bro. Since then I have turned to yoga and running. Feel small af under 170. But yea like I said, all these elite tennis guys are built really different. Anybody paying attention would notice. They are freaks
