Are Federer's Hard Court Match Winning Streaks Underrated?

Obviously, Novak's loss to Tsonga yesterday was a real shocker. Novak has become known as somewhat of a hard court king over the last four years.

However, I find it amazing that Novak's longest match winning streak on hard courts is 35 (3rd longest of all time). But Federer has a 56 and 36 match winning streak on the surface. I think Federer's 65 match winning streak on grass really overshadows those awesome hard court streaks and they are underappreciated.

With hard court being the surface the most number of players are comfortable with due to its consistency and the number of events on it... I agree that 56 match win streak is extremely impressive.

Nadal's 81 match clay streak gets the ultimate publicity, but far far fewer players are decent on that surface.

I'd order it like this:

Federer 56 on hard > Nadal 81 on clay > Federer 65 on grass (another surface few players are very good on and get the least practice on)

I think it might be one of the most under-appreciated streaks ever.

Fed's 65 on grass and Nadal's 81 on clay are done over many seasons because of the shorter seasons, but the 56 on hard courts requires sustained excellence over pretty much a 1 year span which is very hard to do since so much of the field is good on hard courts (since its a neutral surface) and you can't afford any lapses in that large window.
