Are Medvedev’s days of being a regular slam finalist over?

He was a guy who was savvy enough to take advantage of the baseline grinding meta when the tour was in a pretty weak spot, able to make a name for himself with his servebot pusher style. At best he's a Murray-type player who's able to push his opponents on hard, but that's about it. His ceiling is not gonna be as high due to his passive game, and his lack of variety and all-surface prowess, combined with the fact that he wasn't even that young when he broke out, means he's probably never gonna dominate much.

Medvedev with a strong serve is nightmare. He has to improve his serve again to challenge agreed.

Murray type player is fine as Murray is 4th ( soon. 5th) best player of this century.

He could if he can avoid Alcaraz and Sinner.
Fonseca could arrive soon too, who knows if Mensik can have a breakthrough season next year.
We don't know if Djokovic can surge again and for how long.

He's not done, yet, but he needs to change his strategies. His early rounds were way too long. He has a habit of having long 5 setters, but he should figure out how to win more quickly to stay near the top at his age.

My next prediction, Ben Shelton Wins the US Open.

Meddy's ground strokes certainly lacked power in the Learner Tien match. Maybe the era of Eastern forehand grips is over? Even with his loop backswing, Medvedev wasn't getting enough pace on the ball to challenge his opponent.

Some say that the problem is that the tennis balls now are made with a different kind of rubber and fluff up too much, slowing down the ball. But, I think part of the problem is that Medvedev stands too far behind the baseline. His flat strokes permitted Tien to play at the baseline much of the time which put Meddy on the defensive for much of the match.

Despite all that med had what early breaks in sets 1 and 2? His serve is no longer a weapon. It’s being attacked far too easily by opponents as well.
