Are wilson us open reg duty balls the best

us open, better than the penn regular grade (IMO penn regular grade seems to last only two sets). The penn ATP or usta is a very good ball. However my old favorite is the Slazanger brand. Dunlops seems too hard and less bite on my serves.

This guy says it all.

Pro Penns are of similar caliber to the Wilson US Open, and Dunlop Grand Prix balls are tolerable, if not as good as these two. These are my three favorite, readily available balls. I like Slazenger best of all, consistent, and my shots just seem BETTER with them. I have no theory as to why, though.

All other budget balls are typically not worth your time unless you are going to stick them into a hopper for serves.

I think the Wilson US Open balls fuzz up too much and too quickly. That's been my experience. I prefer Dunlop Championship balls (hate the Grand Prix) or Pro Penn or even Penn Championship. I will say that the regular Wilson Championship (red can) balls have dramatically improved over the past year. They're now comparable to the Penns, whereas, before they were terrible and didn't last two games, let alone sets.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Penn ATP (my academy = sponsored by Head/Penn) and Dunlop balls. Those are the best for me. I can't stand Wilson balls...

Man those Wilson balls really fly. Don't like them. You must be cautious all the time. Just a little mistake and the ball flies. I like Dunlop balls in the can. They are the best imo.

I found the Dunlop balls too heavy if I leave them in the can. They play ok if you take them out though.

I judge the performance of tennis balls purely on their smell. With that in mine, the entire line of Penn tennis balls smell the best and so I try to use those whenever possible. The smell of a freshly opened can of balls is one of life's simple pleasures. Some people just dont understand...

Penn Championship Extra-Duty Felt for hardcourt surfaces; plus they are ~ $1.89 per can at a local discount store. Wilson US Open balls are good, but cost more; regular Wilson hardcourt balls are imperfect with pieces of rubber sticking out of the ball.

I watched the guy who attempted to break the world record of longest continous play and he only used Dunlop balls. He brought to the court with him half the ball that he currently held the record with, I think it was around 10,000 strokes with the same ball, and it was basically just pure yellow rubber with barely a hint of fuzz.

His attempt was shut-down due to rain but I think this says something good for Dunlop. He used the Grand Prix model straight out of some random can.
