Are you bad if you lose to a bad person

I normally play doubles but today today i played singles against some one who has horrible form but is consistent he said we were on the same level, we play I was losing 3-0 before I hurt my shoulder I have just started learning and hitting with topspin forehand so I am bad because I lose to some one with bad form but is consistent?

if you 'just started to learn to hit with topspin' your bad. but you'll get better!

I just saw 6 styles thread and from what it sounds like my opponent is a pusher and I am a counter puncher, because my topspin was doing well against some of the varsity players.

I liked the way another poster put it in another thread. He said when you first start out, you're bad at being good and some other people are good at being bad.

What that means is, it's a lot easier to go out and just play with terrible form and win as a pusher or junkballer than it is to try and hit with proper form and use good technique. However, the potential for the players playing the proper way is much higher and if they keep at it, they will eventually demolish the less developed but experienced players.

if you play mostly doubles, it's understandable how you could lose when playing singles to an inferior player. to me, doubles and singles are very different.
