G.O.A.T.
I owned both type of vehicles and am very pleasantly surprised how much I like driving my SUV over my sedans.

I prefer my Bentley over my Rolls, personally.I owned both type of vehicles and am very pleasantly surprised how much I like driving my SUV over my sedans.

I let my driver do the driving. That way i can do the talking.I couldn't have a crossover or SUV as my only vehicle. I have a few with a crossover being my daily driver. A guy needs to have fun as well which is why I have a muscle car and a sports car.
I've only driven sub compact sedans with good fuel economy of 35+mpg freeway
I am a staunch environmentalist and have long been very conscious of my carbon footprint.
Long before the little angry climate agitator Greta came along.
Want to consider a truck or SUV, but have been told that it will not handle nearly as well as a sedan.

Toyota Rav4's are nice little vehicles. I have a 2016 that I use for my daily driver since it is reliable, easy on gas and AWD. Perfect vehicle if you want to blend in with the other cookie-cutter cars. I never thought I would own one but I got a nice deal and knew they were low on the total cost of ownership. I couldn't own one as my only vehicle but they fit the niche I was looking for.We went from a Renault Megane Coupe to a Toyota RAV4 2000 ... best thing we ever did .
Great fun to drive , 100% reliability and fabulously raised viewpoint ..
People that say SUV's are "fun to drive" don't really know what fun driving is.
I prefer lower cars.
Me too, especially those who drive in front of you.I prefer lower cars.
Have you ever been in a Honda S2000? That is the best handling car I have ever been in. Precision handling at its finest from the factory.Excellent point. I think the snazziest car I ever drove was a Datsun 280Z.
I would be interested in the Supra had Toyota made it. I don't dislike BMW, but it takes away from the history this car had. You should be able to pick up a used 2020 for a decent price since Toyota decided to slap the faces of first year owners by adding 47hp and suspension modifications in just the second year. Lately, I have been looking for a pre-2010 Corvette Z06 or a 1990's Corvette ZR1. The former is a great car and you can usually find them reasonably priced. My other wish is to find a decent AC Cobra kit car roller so I can throw the Mustang's Coyote engine in as a restomod. Talk about some fun in a 2600lb car.Not sure what l will get next, but 1000% it will be sporty handling. Maybe a Mustang with a v-8 and a manual transmission...maybe a Supra...
No brainer???There is no reason to get anything other than a 4x4 half ton pickup
Like a F-150 or Ram 1500
New they are nicer than some "luxury" brand cars and have every single feature you can get. Plus you can take it off a cliff and carry or tow anything you want.
No brainer
shouldn't overlook the impact of winter tires. After living in Europe and seeing everyone driving 2WD cars in the Alps during ski trips, you realize that it's the grip of the tires that make a bigger impact.

Which minivans are still around? You might be surprised how high the limits are for the modern SUV or truck compared to designs of 15-20+ years ago. Your average driver, even driving spiritedly for the street, would probably have no issues.
Although I still prefer sedans to SUVs, I understand the practical limitations of my Mazda3, especially if you factor in small children. That said, I'd rather just dive off the deep end when the time comes and go straight to a minivan. My wife doesn't appreciate my pragmatism.![]()
Which minivans are still around?
Absolutely. Tests done by the automotive press remind us that TURNING and BRAKING are much more dependent on having good winter tires than how many driven wheels one has; a front wheel drive car with winter tires will turn and stop much better than a 4WD car with "all season" tires. Tests found a small advantage for AWD in getting going from a stop but little else compared with a car with good snow tires. In the mid 1990s we had a storm that dumped over 30 inches, and I had to go to do some work at the hospital just before the snow stopped falling, on unplowed highways. My front wheel drive (Volvo 850) with 4 Blizzaks had no problem going through that mess.
thought I'd find an 850. Lovely solid boxes, like jeeps. How was your electrical?
Go ssk a Bentley owner! LOL!Really, is that so ? A Wild idea..
Seriously from where do you get this opinion?

SUVs are probably popular with the overweight crowd or those with children. About ony one in ten thousand have any mud on them.
Locally, only see SprintersKia Sedona, Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna and Chrysler Pacifica!
Minivans are making a big comeback in the U.S. Many independent contractors are using them instead of pickup trucks because they can cary stuff securely and good gas mileage, cheaper to repair and they like the sportiness of the drive.
Not really a fan of SUV,s. They are not particularly attractive cars and are a blight on car parks. In the 80’s and 90’s you could have 300zx, supra, 3000gt, soarer, SVX, Celica, NSX, prelude, probe, calibra, fiat coupe, alpha gtv, 280zx, starion, mr2, 924,944,968,928, all nice cars.
Now we all these boring SUV’s. Yes they are very practical, but they sit high, many drive like buses and not that stylish, however nice to see some cross overs trying to combine sports car styling with SUV height.
Excellent point. I think the snazziest car I ever drove was a Datsun 280Z.
Once went for a ride in a DeLorean.
Go and demo the BMW X5 for a crossover with greating handing!Have you ever been in a Honda S2000? That is the best handling car I have ever been in. Precision handling at its finest from the factory.

Have you ever been in a mid 70’s Celica with a mid 90’s Supra twin turbo heart transplant?
Both x3 and x1 handle better then x5. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar, that one is actually the least good of the family (still a great car, though).Go and demo the BMW X5 for a crossover with greating handing!
Awesome! If you want precision handling at it's finest, go drive a Cayman.
Hmmm... Mini Countryman All4, especially the hybrid one, handles almost like a sports car. Subaru Crosstrek is somwhere there too. There's no such thing as a cross over with great handling.
