Primarily Seeking Arm Friendly Racquet. S&V player but don't mind an all-court racquet.

Current Favorites:

1. Prince Ozone Tour (100) - huge sweet spot, the most arm friendly I've tried so far (literally my elbow started to hurt with others, then not so with this racquet, then hurt again with others). Great maneuverability on volleys and approach shots. Decent on groundstrokes. More spinny on serve, but lacking pace (drawback for this racquet).

2. Dunlop Aerogel 200 - good flexy racquet, nice feel, great serves, but not as arm friendly as Prince Ozone Tour. Sweet spot feels smaller. Dense string pattern has more board feel.

Demoed and Rejected:

BB11 - don't like feel & maneuverability at net
Fischer - M Pro No 1. 98 - don't like weight/balance feel of racquet. Subjective thing.
Volkl - C10 Pro - nice & soft but don't like weight/balance, nor feel on volleys.

Still to try:

Dunlop Aerogel 300
Babolat Pure Storm Tour (98)
Avery M3 Control
Yonex RQ iS Tour
Yonex RDS 002 & 002 Tour
Prince Ozone Tour (100sq.)
Prince 03 Speedport Tour
BB 11 (98)

Where do you suggest I go from here?
What are your thoughts on my liking the Prince Ozone Tour so much? suggested compares for this?

Thank you

The older, 320 version, red and black Kelefnikov Fischer Pro No 1 320... interesting all courter frame that is not only very comfy and arm-friendly, but has a lovely feel... solid and crisp and soft and buttery (I know! That sounds wrong, but that's how I'd describe it... )

The best racquets for your arm are the Dunlop Injection Moulded frames. These include: Dunlop Max 200G, Dunlop Max 300i, Dunlop Max 400i, Dunlop Max 500i, Dunlop Max 800i. There is also one model of Slazenger that is injection moulded, but I forgot the name of the exact model (Phantom?). With that said though, all of these frames are very hard to get these days... Other arm-friendly racquets: Dunlop Revelation Classic Pro, Dunlop Revelation Tour Pro, Dunlop Revelation Select pro, Volkl C10.

I'm shocked to see no ProKennex frames on your list.

I would think the Redondo 98 would be attractive for a demo.

The RDS 001 is actually very arm-friendly, but is a relatively firm feeling frame. I'd put it ahead of the 002 and RQis models.

Redondo, or possibly AG100

I'm currently using a Redondo mid (93"), strung with poly (MSV hex). I play doubles and S&V singles, and have had elbow and shoulder problems before, but nothing at all with that set-up.

I'm also getting a couple of AG100s, which I reckon will play similar to the Redondo, but the more open stringbed will give extra pocketing and spin.

For me, the secret is to avoid stiff frames, and go for heavier but head-light frames, and with a low swingweight. The lighter head is good for net play (and for groundies, it forces you to make a better swing than if you were using an even-balance frame with more weight in the head). The heavier weight gives you a bit of mass behind the swing (which helps on groundies). And the low swingweight helps swing early. The softer, flexier frame takes more of the shocks when you don't quite connect right.

Yes, I'm still making a demo list... and the larger sweet spot is a good thing. My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be and I find that I hit waaay too many off-center hits with my Prestige Mids. Ouch.

Never get "golfer's elbow" from tennis. It has been almost 4 months without play and I'm easing into it again, but not all of the pain/recovery is done with. /sigh

I was about to suggest the Redondo, but seeing that you say you're having problems with the Prestige Mids then I'd better pull that out.

I'd agree with Il Mostro about the PK 5G. Or also the PK Ki 5. These are comfy and more suitable to the "eyesight" you mentioned.

While you are on the demo trail, I suggest you add the PK 5G Pro to your list.

Ditto on the PK 5G.

Yeah, that frame is great, I'm using it as my main stick. Someone actually said that it was the same as the newer version with just a different color scheme, but I'm not really buying it.

for me (who felt the pain of the first fase of TE and changed sticks ...amoung other things!) Wilson Pro Tour worked jsut fine as a very arm friendly stick...62 RA..10 pts head light (unstrung and then 7 p hl) about 330 gr stung...never felt it again, for real! hope it helps.

If you get a chance to try a midplus Donnay Pro One, I recommend it. It may carry just a little more mass than the Ozone Tour, but it has immense feel and control. It seems that most of these softer frames inherently have a little less pop with their extra flex, but when you find one with that "can't miss" sweetspot like you may have with the Prince, then you've probably got a really good fit going.
