Arm Pain w/ Pure Strike but w/o Blade

Whenever I pick up my new Pure Strike 98 16x19 (2014) with Tourna Big Hitter Black 7 16G at 57 lbs., I feel a little bit of pain on my elbow and shoulder. But I've never felt any pain with Blade 98 16x19 (2013, black & silver) with Wilson Revolve 16G at 57 lbs for a couple of years.

I'm not sure the pain comes from the the Pure Strike or the BHB7?

Please advise.

Edit1) Subject: Arm Pain w/ Pure Strike but Not w/ Blade

Edit2) Pure Strike 11.54 oz. / Blade 11.15 oz. (both with the current strings)

Easy. Put Wilson Revolve in the Pure Strike and see what happens.
Also, you can try dropping tension and/or a softer poly.

BHB is not a harsh string at all. However both tensions you quoted are high for a poly. I string full poly on a 95 head size @48

Why would you pick up a different racket with different strings. Change only 1 variable at a time. And afaik Blades have been known for being soft and arm friendly. Except maybe the K Factor version? The nBlades were super soft.

Compare the two frame to see the difference http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/cgi-bin/compareracquets.cgi use the same string and tension in both. If you notice a difference then try to match the specs if you can to see if there is an improvement. Just because the specs are published does not mean your frames have the same specs. Best to chech your own specs.

I had compared two specs before I picked up the pure strike, and I thought the pure strike was very similar to blade. I measured both my rackets strung and only .40 oz. differences. I had a good memory on BHB7 17G on Blade, so I thought it would be OK with 16G on Pure Strike.

BHB7 17G was very good on Blade. I didn't know 1G differnce of same string makes so much differences.
And my local shop didn't carry any Pure Strike 98 demo rackets.

Don't know how sensitive your arm is, but yes, 1 gauge is a big difference in feel and playability. 17g has power power, spin, and is easier on the arm than 16g. First two qualities by a fairly noticeable value. The last one by less, but some people still talk about it.

I tried full poly 55 and multi 53 lbs. on my Blade 16x19, but I had hard time to control balls from baseline strokes (too long). With full poly 57 on Blade, it feels about OK on baseline strokes. I'll reduce my tension a little bit next time though.

Pure Control Tour is almost as comfortable as Blade. So it must be Pure Strike - there is obviously some intrinsic difference between them.

Then choose a more control oriented poly at lower tension. BHB7 is powerful for a poly. You will be surprised how much better poly plays at lower tension.

Funny how the Blade turned out to be arm friendly for you. I gave away three Blade 98s and some 71RA Babolat, convinced that they were orthopedic devilment. I see how many younger folk use both.

Drop strings tension and use the same string on both. See how it work out for ya.
I suggest you shouldn't string on the blade anything below 23kgs. It's huge different between 22kgs and above 23kgs. Hecks, i made that mistake and it cost me 2 set of string to figured that out

The Blade is very comfortable, I just wanted to give a try some Babolat since almost everyone is using one of them around me.

Is there any reason why I should not string anything below 23 kg (50.7 lbs.)? What tension do you string your racket at?

In my experience, string anything below 51lbs on Blade make it vibrant alot. Its feel like i cant know either where the ball meet on the racquet face or what direction the ball would fly out. Beside, i never use a dampener while using above 51lbs Blade... Below that, thats different story (i hate it also:) )

FYI, I currently strung my Blade at 51lbs (23kgs), sometimes 24kgs...

I didn't have any issues stringing my Blade around 48lbs. There is a difference between the 2014 and 2016 Pure Strike racquets in that the 2016 version isn't as hollow or tinny as the 2014. It's like Babolat make a completely different racquet even though they are the same line.
