Here's how I'll "buy" the Wimbledon title for Nick for $300-400, and worst case if Nick loses I will make some money. It's a win-win for me.
Basically I'll be betting on Nick's opponent to win:
Nick still has 3 more matches to play.
1) Kyrgios vs Garin (odds: 1.29 vs 4.5 according to my bookmarker)
-> bet 15$ on Garin to win $68 ($15*4.5) (profit ~$50 if Garin wins)
If Kyrgios wins, next match:
2) Kyrgios vs Nadal (assuming odds would be 1.7 for Nadal)
-> bet $93 on Nadal to win $158 ($93*1.7), which will cover the previous loss (-$15) and still profit $50 if Nadal wins
If Kyrgios still wins, final match:
3) Kyrgios vs Djokovic (assuming odds would be 1.6 for Djokovic):
-> bet $264 on Djokovic to win $423 ($264*1.6), which will cover the previous losses (-$15 - $93) and still profit $50 if Djokovic wins
SO, if Kyrgios wins the whole thing then I'll lose $371 ($15 + $93 + $264).
In other words, I'm buying Nick the Wimbledon title for ~$400. In fact, at this point I'm willing to lose up to $700 (amount i can afford to lose) to buy Nick the title. The thought of Kyrgios winning the whole thing is too exciting that's definitely worth it.
And the best part is if Nick happens to not win the title then I make some money (+$50) in the end.
