I am willing to admit, as most Fed fans here i suppose, that all those RG defeats at the hand of the Bull still sting a little bit. Fed has won more that i could ever have dreamed of, so at the end of the day it`s no big issue. But needless to say if he defeats Nadal tomorrow it will be the greatest victory of his amazing career. Conquering a well playing, even if not prime level, Nadal in his courtyard at 37 is unthinkable even right now hours before the match. If by some miracle he could do it, the sheer amount of effort required may kill his chances for the whole grass season, risking even an injury in the process.
We know how much Fed treasures Wimbledon, and as his fans how much we enjoy seeing him play on grass. So that begs the question, would you trade his chances at Wimbledon this year (perhaps even the rest of the season), probably his last year with chances to win it, for a glorious triumph in 4 or 5 gruelling sets against Nadal to then be completely gassed for the final and be routined by Djokovic or Thiem?
What say you?
