As a new member it’s threads like these....

Actually I have no problem with people like Tsitsipas25Slams. Even if it was riddled with logical fallacies and oversimplifications, his thread about Federer forehand was genuine and well-written.
His comparison to Galileo and Copernicus did seem a bit over the top though, and being banned just adds to his delusion of grandeur. Bad idea.

I think there was some valid stuff in there about Federer’s forehand and how he used it during his peak years. But if someone makes a post suggesting Djokovic’s ROS isn’t a great shot because they watched all his matches no one is taking that seriously either.

His responses to some of those questioning his conclusions leave no doubt he just wanted to stir it up.

He was the tennis equivalent of a Rick and Morty fan. Smart, but incredibly pretentious about it.

So how did this divorce come about? Well your honour, she said I watch too many Federer matches, and I said there's no such thing as watching too many Federer matches, your honour. :D

I think she suggested over breakfast one day 2015 peak Federer? Plates were thrown and suitcases packed!

The clincher:

Judge: "So Mrs @Lleytonstation, what was the last straw for you?"

Mrs. @Lleytonstation: "It was when we last made love and he shouted "Chum Jetzte!" at the moment of climax!"

;)

Probably 5th set of AO 17, screaming and yelling an blaming everything on the wife. Then joyous love making. Followed by more anger as Fed struggles to serve it out. The screaming of excitement. Why she was mad, I don't know.

Apparently it is called FBPD, Fed Bi-Polar Disorder.

Hi Fake695. What is your other account?

This is my first. I made one other thread about my tennis rewatch a month ago as in introduction to myself but that’s been the limit of my involvement so far.

Actually I’ve started two threads. You agreed on my channel slam importance thread if I remember.

If no many of the same users are being ignored because they're just trolling, I wonder why they haven't been banned by the mods.

This thread might look like a scream for attention now lol. But in the middle of a grand slam I’d much rather be hearing what an excellent Djokovic fan like hitman has to say and people’s responses to his opinions, than the forum being dominated by this drivel.

I always get sucked in though. Couldn’t resist responding myself.

I wonder if anyone could tell me how long until your avatar considers you not a new user. Is it a time thing or messages written thing?
There are excellent posters in all fan groups. You won't find a more level, fair and friendly guy than @Hitman. He's a Djokovic fan. I don't like Djokovic's game at all and always root against, but Hitman is one of the guys here I like the best.

Just figure out who the pleasant people are, respond to them and ignore the rest. It's just like life. ;)

Thank you! Yeah hitman comes across really well. As do you from the many posts I’ve read of yours.

Though sport always seems to me like an intelligent Nadal fan even when I disagree with him and he has just accused me of having multiple accounts so what do I know lol

Welcome James. Have fun!

I deleted those messages! I apologize.

It’s hard to really prove trolling as tennis like all sport is subjective. All opinions are valid and it’s hard to say categorically when someone is just posting stuff to create a toxic atmosphere or if they just believe what they believe.

We may be sure someone is trolling but I guess the mods need to be certain before they act.

I was a new member once.

From the start i made offbeat threads, one of my early ones compares Gasquet to peter pan. I've made a few duds but if you make some good original ones, people soon like ya!

https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/richard-gasquet-the-peter-pan-of-tennis.601271/

I like that observation. I wonder if the lost boys (Nishikori, Raonic, Grigor) follow him around lamenting when Captain Fed is gonna retire and leave them in peace.

I guess that would make Nadal the crocodile....

I’ll stop now.

As a long time lurker and new joiner eager to join in the discussion and learn from people who clearly know more about tennis than me, it’s really disheartening when other “new users” just fill the forums with troll threads like the couple that have just popped up.

Hard to think my opinions will be even acknowledged if I’m just labelled with these other guys. Just seems a shame when there are so many knowledgeable and interesting views from fans of all players that these forums get dominated by these toxic threads.
It's been a few weeks since I joined and like you, I too was a long time lurker before finally taking a leap of faith and made an account. I like the troll posts sometimes, adds a bit of spice but it often does go overboard. You can always choose not to see those specific threads, and like others above have already notified match thread are a religious experience, courtesy of AndyM and his illuminating posts.

I don’t mind the odd troll post. The frog makes me laugh with his dry quips about clay or Murray even though I don’t agree. Just some users seem to just spend every single minute pushing an agenda or trying to get a reaction. Guess you just have to admire the dedication.

As a new user though has anyone had their posts deleted which were harmless drivel? Around 10 msgs of mine have already been deleted if not more, not quite sure what the mods get up to any more:(.

I haven’t posted enough to notice yet but I have seen quite a few people confused about why their messages have been deleted. I’m sure older, wiser members can fill as in.

Conventional wisdom is this forum is part of the mental testing department at the not actually defunct Japanese Unit 731 that was moved to somewhere in Mogadishu in the 1960s

My second thread may have been deleted, but I'm not sure. It was the one in which I claimed that there was no tennis GOAT, and it got a fairly mixed reception. A lot of the comments were basically stuff like "This is why New Users shouldn't be allowed to make threads", which I didn't understand at first, but I do now.

At any rate, I can really see why some on the forum are suspicious of new users, what with guys like Tsitsipas25Slams or Donk roaming around.

Donk was clearly a troll but the aforementioned user name seems hilarious, don't even know who he/she is but their posts would have been quite funny.

The account Tsitsipas25Slams was actually both created and banned in the same day. Today, that is. You missed a bit; lucky for you!

Unfortunately, many longtime members are just as guilty of filling the forums with troll threads.

I think I remember that thread vaguely. Can’t see any reason why that view can’t be seen as legitimate. I think maybe they delete threads that have become toxic because of where the discussion has led even if the OP’s original message was fine.

Happens to a lot of Serena threads I think.

Not necessarily are all new users’ opinions immediately discredited just cause the users happen to be new on this site.

Look at how warmly was @AndyM welcomed.

Took him no time to put himself in the position to be a hot contender for the "most charismatic" award at the end of the year.

No wonder @Sysyphus hates him.
Really? I put him on ignore almost immediately.

I'm sorry you can't handle the BULL

Grampa's one of the cool newbies. James, be a Grampa.

Were the entire threads deleted? That happens a great deal around here.

So true, become get really nasty with their views. Totally necessary.

I was accused of being a fake user when first started posting, too, lol :)

I was accused twice of being other people too, all newbies go through it - problem is probably 70% of the time it is just another duplicate account (or 15th account).
