Ashaway Crossfire String

I have played with Kevlar as long as I can remember. I know it is bad for my arm. I do have some shoulder problems, but that is about it and I don't really think it is from the string. Would a softer string be better for my shoulder? Also, how soft is the 17 gauge ashaway compared to other kevlar and other strings? I hit with Prince Polygut 17 and Prince Synthetic 16 Crosses and didn't like it. Too soft. My shots didn't come off as heavy. Which poly string would be best for me and what about ashaway crossfire monogut?

What about Kirschbaum Super Smash Honey or Spiky 17 with synthetic gut crosses? Does anybody play with this or know how it feels?

The ashaway would be the softest kevlar ive played with and i've only used it in a 16 gauge hybrid with gosen synthetic. Its tons better stuff than that pro blend stuff if thats what you been using. Hey even agassi only played with the ashaway back when he was doing the kevlar/gut hybrid. A word of warning though if you're trying to switch off of kevlar to a polyester. Kevlar is so stiff that even when switching down to polyester it will seem like a trampoline. That's what happend to me as i tried to switch to the super smash 17 gauge and the gosen polylon. I've since weened myself down to the softest multifilamnets but it was not an easy journey. My joints do thank me for it though. Your best bet is to try the luxilons though, that will probably be the easiest transition. Luxilons have sort of a kevlar feel, let me explain, the harder you swing the more control you get it seemed like, theres no sudden unwanted power from swinging hard if that makes any sense. And that's a characterstic that both kevlar and luxilons have. Anyway thats my experience hope that helps

Thanks. Is Luxilon a poly or what, and how does it play as a hybrid. I am a big fan of hybrid, so if I played with Luxilon, I would put a synthetic gut, probably ashaway 16. How would that play?

To me luxilon plays like every other polyester i've played with, except with much increased feel. I don't know if its defined as a polyester I'm looking at my pack of luxilon alu power and it doesnt say polyester anywhere on it. If I were you I'd try a full stringjob of alu power, I dont know if you'd get anything advantageous hybriding with synthetic gut, but I havne't actually tried it. I've only tried full alu power string job, and an alu power mains and natural gut crosses. You'll probably get arguments, but personally I preferred the full alu power string job the best. I think it will work better in your bigger head size warrior mid plus anyway.

Ashaway's MonoGut is a great alternative to kevlar but it's still light years away in stiffness. A softer string would definitly help but maybe some of the cause is that your frame is too stiff.

Might give Ashaway Dynamite WB 16 or 17 a try. Zyex based string that is firm and lots of power. Good tension holding and durability.
