Asics Gel Court FF alternatives?

The Asics Gel Court FF were my absolute favorite tennis shoes - unfortunately they are not being made anymore and the FF2 were not even close. In hindsight I should have bought several pairs. What have former Court FF users switched to as alternatives? Is there maybe an FF3 on the horizon?

Yeah, the Asics Court FF2 isn't working for me either. My go-to shoe now is NB Fresh Foam Lav. It has a breathable fabric upper and good cushioning. The Court FF2 is fairly new so I doubt there will be any changes to it for at least a year. It would be great if they married the fabric upper of the original Court FF to the sole of the Court FF2 to make the FF3; but I doubt they'll do that. Try the Lav - it's a great shoe plus it's on sale.

I totally agree. The asic court ff was by far the best shoe I have used in the last ten years. The ff 2s are nothing special at all. I might try the asic gel resolution 8s, otherwise I have no idea which direction to go.

Agree as well. The ff2's killed my big toes. Ubersonics gave me achilles tendinitis. Currently wearing wide vapors, but the cushioning is not as good. Thinking of trying the kswiss supreme.

Guess everyone else is different. I'm in my late 20s so maybe that's why? Haha.
The Court FF2 is my favorite shoes so far and I've own the Adidas SoleCourt Boost, Vapor X and Air Zoom Prestige but the comfort of the FF2 is better for me.
After the rain clears up, I think I'm going to try the Asics Gel Res 8 and see how that goes.

I didn't try the court FF2 but I had the court FF. Now I have the Gel Res 8 after trying lots of different shoes (Ubersonic 2, Resolution 7, NB Fresh Foam Lav, Rush Pro 3.0, Challenger 12) and they are softer and more responsive than the last version. Very well cushioned, not as snug as the previous one or the first court FF cause they are larger but more stable. The heel is very well locked compared to the previous one and that's a nice thing. I feel more secure. Just go 1/2 size down maybe if you want too feel more snug cause it's quite large in the midfoot area specially compared to the first court FF. I went half size down with the first court FF but not with the Gel Res. Maybe I should have tried 1/2 size down also with the Gel Res 8 as it's larger than the 7's.

FF2 was difficult on my big toes. The K Swiss Ultra shots also did in my big toes, lost a toe nail with that one. I tried runners loop and other lacing techniques no help.
The Asics Gel Challenger was great for me as well as the Wilson Rush Pro 3. Both comfortable out of the box, and no toe jam issues.
I guess it all depends on your feet as everyone is different. Problem is manufacturer keeps changing models and then issues come up and then needing to switch to something else, but that can be a gamble until you find the right one, then manufacturer changes again.

I bought 3 pairs of Rush Pro 3.0 in total cause they are so confortable! 2 pairs of hard court and one pair special for clay courts with special clay outsole. The only issue I had and that's why I recently changed was some toe jam issues. I've hurt my nails and don't want to have this anymore. I don't know why, maybe cause the sole is very sticky on hard court and the feet can slide on hard stop and there is no extra holes for the laces. I cinch the laces tight, wear thick socks or 2 pairs of socks for a better support as the mesh upper stretched a bit and it's better but always afraid of hurting my toe nails. Another knock is durability for the RP3. Each pair died after 4 months playing like 4 hours a week on hard court. Clay court a bit more long but still not very durable the outsole. Otherwise it's a nice shoe, lightweight, stable, very comfortable, cushioned, quite speedy. I still recommend it if you don't have toe jam issues and durability isn't a problem for you.

Now using the Gel Res 8 with the same size I don't have this toe jam issues anymore. But the shoe is larger than the RP3. No prob with the big toe as I also have lots of big toe issues with lots of shoes. The toe gard is high enough and well constructed so it's perfect. My only regret is about the weight. I miss the lightweight shoe.
