I originally purchased these shoes in the beginning of September 2021, and I have already filed a claim for them in December 2021. Great shoes, but they don't last! Thank goodness for the warranty!

Especially in clay, due to the deep thread.

But:
a) They can give you bad blisters due to a stich under the tongue. Especially if you have hammer toes.
b) The linning is way worse then in Nike or Addidas, as it wears out pretty fastin the heel area.
Very true about the lining in the heel! I have had my pair for a couple months and have a hole in the lining of the left shoe, not very durable as I have much older shoes without them ever developing a hole. Is this something covered by the warranty? Like the shoes otherwise, but this is disappointing.

I liked GR 7 even less on hard courts, due to the lack of frontal support, I ended up with pain in the balls of my feet, aka metatarsalgia...
I still prefer them on clay to all other shoes though.

Unfortunately these shoes don’t work for me. Brannock 9.5 but my right foot is a tad longer and wider, at TTS my I have toe jamming resulting in bruised toe nails and also blisters on the side of my big toe. My left foot however fits perfect lol. Time to continue the hunt!

Anyone compare the toebox with the FF2 or Diadora B Icon?

No real difference except I find Diadora more comfortable for my wider foot than the GR8.
I wear 11.5US/46EU/29cm in the GR8 and 11.5US/45.5EU/29.5cm in the Icon.

Thank you, I ended up getting Diadora Torneo's due to the reviews saying it's wider in the forefoot. I may just grab B Icons to try it out, if they're secured properly I should have no problem.

I want to try FF Novak's but the Asics website is always sold out in my size when they come up lol.

How does asics GR8 wide compared to GR6 wide?

GR6 wide / 2e in size 11.5 US is the best fitting shoe i've ever tried. Does GR8 wide / 2e have at least same width compared to GR6 2e?

I'm trying out the women's wide because I'm really into this colorway. So far, okay...only a couple times out on court.

...and of course some others that are in rotation.

So how were the torneos man? Width-wise (toebox) compared to other shoes you have worn of the same size?

I use tread labs dash medium arch inserts. I wonder if you’ve tried arch support inserts.

You post that before or after you showed me them at the Courts this morning? I find with the right shoe I do not need them but with shoes that don't quite fit correctly - they would likely me a big help.

Thanks

Just before. I probably woke up very slowly and was still laying in bed on my phone.

I’ve been an arch support convert ever since I tried Superfeet. They helped me play a few hours longer but I was looking for more as I still had bad shin splints / tibial stress. I became a Tread Labs convert after someone here (edit: @kingnike12) suggested these specific insoles to me. Pretty low risk as the 90-day return policy is generous. No more shin splints.

My GR8’s fit me correctly stock, but swapping out for the carbon fiber inserts with the correct length and arch height lends so much more support. Especially after I break down the cheap foam stock inserts.

Has anyone tried both the D width GR8’s and Wide (2E)? What are your thoughts on comparing the two, comfort and fit wise? I’ve acquired a regular width pair in white with black accents, which is much more comfortable than the tokyo pair I owned that had a clicking sound in the upper. Seems a bit narrow compared to my usual Court FF2’s, but I’ve made it manageable with thinner socks

First of all links to competitor sites (including the manufacturers themselves) are not allowed so be prepared to get edited

Secondly, why so many blue colorways? Blue with black, blue with white, light blue, blue with teal, and now total blue....

I don't know but these will be my first primarily blue pair of GR8's :D

have had a bunch of white and black or silver ones
favorite so far was the Tokyo Olympics red white and blue colorway
Tokyo red was cool, got a lot of attention
the Earth Day one is nice. I like that one

First time playing in Gel Resolution 8's this past weekend. Really great support and comfort. Wondering if that "click" in the forefoot plastic disappears after break-in. Otherwise very nice. Coming from Nike Vapors > GP Turbos > GR 8.

The women's wides come in width D. There are a noticeable a lot of the larger sizes out of stock. Y'all think men bought them up?

For those with orthotics or replacement insoles, did you stick with your usual size or did you have to go a size down?
I had to abandon the GR8 after trying a pair on with my orthotics. They wouldn't fit properly in the bootie and unlike the GR7, my feet could not sit squarely on the orthotics. Changing the size wouldn't have made a difference.

Thank you. So I'm gonna call it another bust. GR8 wides were really tempting at $84.

Some of the teardowns already seem to have that colorway. May not be exactly the same though.

Solution swift ff for example. Actually thinking about getting a pair of these for clay (wearing solution speed ff 2 on hard now)
